Hakuba felt a chill run down his spine at the thought. He swallowed and looked away, his face going serious. He had no intentions of letting Spider kill anyone, least of all Kaitou KID. He was doing everything in his power to stop Spider before he hurt anyone else, and no, he didn’t really see KID as bait.
“I wont let that happen.” He turns to look at Kaito, his eyes not wavering. “I will catch Spider before anyone else gets hurt, including Kaitou KID.”
Kaito held Hakuba’s gaze for a minute before closing them and smiling softly. So, the detective did care, much as he might try and pretend otherwise.
“I hope so. Though… I’m sure Kid won’t get caught by anyone. Assassin or detective.”
