Kid suddenly heard a noise behind him and looked down from his perch above the rooftop door. He raised an eyebrow at the outfit, smiling slightly. There were always a few who attended his heists in the costume. though, they usually weren’t allowed inside….
He blinked and looked a bit closer.
Is that….?
The thief choked back a laugh. Why on earth was she in that getup?
“Flattering though it may be, I don’t think wearing that on nights when people are searching for one in the same costume is the best idea, ojou-san. Wouldn’t want to cause you any unneeded trouble, after all.”
He moved to the edge of the section to let her notice him, his cape waving around behind him.
A wide grin was formed with her lips.
“Of course, I have another idea.”
She moved closer to him, hugging him tightly. “I will stay like this with you. That way you can’t get away. I know that your magic isn’t real. So, you can’t do anything to get away now.”
He took a step back when her arms wrapped around him, his own held halfway in the air, unsure of what to do.
What on earth is she thinking?! Even if I don’t normally hurt people, I’m still a thief! She shouldn’t go around randomly hugging criminals….
A moment of stunned silence passed as Kid calmed his mind. He did still have a job to do. The thief looked down at Aoko, trying to come up with the best way out. The way she was positioned cut off access to his knock-out gas, and he didn’t really want to try and force his way out…
He paused, blinking as an idea came to him. A grin of his own spread across his face as he gently returned the hug.
“Are you sure about that? I’m a fairly skilled escape artist, you know? However….” he lowered his head slightly, the brim of his hat touching just above her head, “If you truly want me to stay with you, ojou-san, I suppose I could keep you company for a little while longer.”
