Madison didn’t doubt for a second that he was an amazing magician if he was the one inspiring Kaito’s own talents. She felt herself growing just a little jealous at the idea of being raised by a magician — not that there hadn’t been plenty of fun and laughs from her own father.
A small shrug, and she gave him a sweet smile. “I think y’ probably have, t’ him. I mean, yer great at magic, but yer nice too. I don’t know many magicians that would take th’ time t’ teach a stranger tricks when asked t’.”
Kaito blinked and then gave a slightly embarrassed smile. While the magician normally took compliments well, to have someone say that he might be as good as his dad…

“Well, I’ll admit, most known magicians don’t like to give away secrets, even on the simple tricks. They don’t want to lose business if people use the basics to try and figure out the more complicated ones.” He raised a hand and scratched his cheek.
“I myself think that it’s silly. If it makes people happy, why not teach some magic?”
