The thief quickly lifted his head when he heard the voice.

Rather unnerving song to be singing at this time of night…

He looked around, not seeing where the song was coming from right away.

“Umm… Is someone there?”

He smirked. Finally he’d got rid of the problem. Well, partly -he’ll still have to eliminate the stranger later- but at least for now he wasn’t a threat anymore. He dared turning his back at him, walking toward the giggling children. He’d left them out of his grip for too long already.

“Now look at me, the pendant calls, back and forth your eyelids fall…”

The thief breathed an inward sigh of relief when the man turned away. Now that the pendulum wasn’t in his sight, it was much easier to stay focused. Seems that the song alone could only go so far…

He casually walked closer to the group, still pretending to be under the hypnosis, making sure to keep the coin out of sight. He considered trying to stop the kidnapper now, but there were multiple problems with most of the actions he had available. Knock out gas would be best, but as close as the other was to the children, he might be able to do something to them before actually falling asleep. And he still didn’t know what else the man might have on him….

So the best option would be to try and get the kids away from here.
