Hakuba’s fingers went to his head once more. It had been a rather hard fall, and the pain wasn’t easing up any, in fact it was getting worse. He winced once again as fingers touched the bump, it was sore and tender, but there was no blood. He also wasn’t feeling nauseous or light headed, just in pain.
“It was a long night.” Hakuba’s response was a bit sharp. “And yes, it hurts.”
Guilt started to rise in his stomach and he flinched slightly at the admittance to being in pain. He may not have been the cause of the detective’s injury, but he was feeling bad for laughing now…
The magician awkwardly shuffled his feet, still not yet looking at the other.
“I… could go get an ice pack, if you want. I know the nurse’s office has some…”
