He knew he shouldn’t be there in his current condition, face seemingly permanently stained red and he hoped he could lie convincingly enough to the thief he asked. He couldn’t help that his hormones had been going a little more haywire then usual, a side effect from the Apotoxin Haibara had told him. This really was the worst time to come to a KID heist.
Maybe he should go, he could likely leave before KID showed up since he seemed to be having fun toying with the Task Force. Turning to go with that decision in mind, he hoped maybe he could actually leave before the thief showed up and he’d have to try and explain his fevered look and uh… physical evidence to what exactly was wrong with the detective.
“I should have never promised I’d try to make it to all of his heists,” he murmured to himself.
He’d let out a startled noise when the door opened, not fast enough to move out of the way of the person charging through and he almost collided with the white clad thief. Thankfully KID had better reflexes and managed to move out of the way with circling steps. Of course he was still too close and Shinichi couldn’t move away fast enough.
“A-ah, I’m fine,” he replied a little too hastily to the thief’s question, trying to turn his back to him quickly. He wasn’t being nearly as subtle as he would have liked to try to be but then he also was starting to have problems thinking straight. And it only was getting the worse the closer the thief was to him.
“I uh… I just got an odd text from some random stranger is all. Wrong number.” Was that an obvious lie? God above he was bad at this.

The thief raised an eyebrow at his response. He didn’t believe it for a second, but did have to wonder why the detective was lying… The other was acting a bit strange…
Kid moved around to stand directly in front of the detective and placed a gloved hand on his forehead.
“Are you sure you’re fine? Because you feel rather warm…”
