He glanced at the detective out of the corner of his eye as the other sat beside him and a nod was given to show that the company was allowed. Really, it was preferred, but the thief still didn’t say a word. After a few moments of staring at the ground, he rested his head on Shinichi’s shoulder and slowly closed his eyes, visibly relaxing.
He was glad to see a smile at least, and gave a small one in return. Obviously he wasn’t completely horrible at trying to cheer someone up. Or maybe he was only good at trying to cheer KID up. He did wish the other would talk to him though, he found he was missing the sound of the thief’s voice.
Then he found himself suddenly in a hug and he found himself blushing, trying not to squeak in surprise because he was tired of actually squeaking whenever the thief did something without warning. Of course he assumed that was kind of the point of why KID did those things but still. A heart beat later and Shinichi snuggled into the hug, getting comfortable. There wasn’t really a chance of getting caught by anyone tonight so why not enjoy it?

When Shinichi responded to the hug, the thief’s smile grew a bit wider. The detective felt nice, and warm, and was giving no small amount of comfort. His disappointment was slowly fading just from being close to the other, though he continued to just hold Shinichi. As late as he’d stayed up preparing for the heist the night before, Kid might have been beginning to nod off, his trust in the detective outweighing any danger that came to mind.
