The thief quickly lifted his head when he heard the voice.

He looked around, not seeing where the song was coming from right away.
“Umm… Is someone there?”
He considered attacking again, but quickly abandoned the idea: he’d seen how fast that dude could be after all. He’ll have to backstab him.
He held the knife in his mouth, rose both hands, and clasped them. Immediately, the children jolted upright and looked around them like lost puppies.
”..Where am I?”
“Sanae? Payumi?”
“Mom, Dad, where are you?”
“It’s cold and it’s late. I want to go home.”
“Where did the snake go?”
“I hope you’re happy, fashionless magician.”

The thief cautiously went back over to the door, opening it and motioning at the kids to come. To try and attract their attention a bit more, he made another dove appear.
“Don’t worry everyone. Sora here will make sure you all get back home…” He rose his hand to let the bird fly off, quickly shooting a glance back at the other as it circled around a couple of times outside before landing on the sidewalk in front of the house and cooing.
“And he tends to worry, so make sure you don’t leave him before you get there, okay?”
Really, Sora was just going to take them to the police, but he didn’t want the hypnotist knowing that. Even if he did plan on keeping his promise, the man probably wouldn’t like knowing that’s where they were going.
