He froze at the voice.
It didn’t match the hollow screams in the chaos surrounding him. It was much clearer, and full of concern. But he knew it didn’t come from any of the formless figures running around him, pulling him back from where he was trying to go.
He knew who it was.
Kid stopped struggling against the force holding him down, eyes falling shut as he relaxed his painfully tense muscles, a slight shaking forming as he breathed in deeply. He knew he needed to calm down. The detective didn’t need to be worry any more than he already was….
As the mental scene faded, he glanced at the arms holding him down before following them up to the face of the one they belonged to, giving the other a small, apologetic smile.
“Sorry… about that… tantei-kun…”
Shinichi wasn’t sure he could actually get more worried then he was, if he was honest with himself. Blue eyes were dark with concern, hold on KID still there but not nearly as forceful. He was afraid if he let him go completely it would happen again and he couldn’t take that. Seeing the way Kaito had flailed and struggled… it was not a scene he’d like to live through again.
He tried to smile back but it probably looked more like a grimace, though there was some look of relief in his eyes at least. And hearing the master thief’s voice helped too. Enough that he sat back some though he had yet to remove himself from KID’s personal space.
“Are you okay?”
Kid let out a sigh. He could only imagine what must have happened, but for the detective to actually have to force him down… it must have been pretty bad.
His smile grew a bit wider, trying to lessen Shinichi’s concern, and he brought a hand up to gently wrap his fingers around the other’s arm.

“..Yeah. I’m fine now.”
