Wait. That didn’t sound or feel right.
He blinked and moved them around more, cautiously raising a hand to touch the top if his head. And met something warm and fuzzy.
…Did Akako do something to me in my sleep or something?
The ears picked up a noise coming from the door and he turned just in time to see Hakuba coming into the room. They went flat against his skull again and he backed up slightly in his seat, only to notice something else didn’t seem right. But this time, he didn’t check. He didn’t really have to. A black tail curled around him and flicked around some, clearly visible from the front, causing the magician to stare at it for a moment before his face turned a bit pink.
What the… why ears and a tail?
…Oh, right. Hakuba. He glanced back up at the detective, hoping he hadn’t seen yet. The ears would be hard to spot if they just stayed down…. now if he could just get the tail under his shirt…
Hakuba stiffed a chuckle, wanting to remain with an air of indifference, though he did speed up to his normal pace. He was enjoying this, much more then he should, but he honestly wanted to whisk the neko away, light a nice fire in a fire place, make some tea and lay on a nice rug with the other curled against him, where he could touch his ears and tail freely. He of course pushed these thoughts away.
Hakuba followed the other, thankful that the nurses office wasn’t far away. He’d scratch the other behind the ears till they fell asleep, then head back to class and hopefully he wouldn’t miss much. He’d make extra notes for his fellow student of course. It wasn’t his fault he’d grown extra appendages, it would only fair if he helped the other make up for what he missed.
Kaito waited until the other had gotten closer before opening the door, at least remembering to have knocked beforehand. He looked around the empty room briefly before making his way over to one of the beds, climbing on top of it and laying on his stomach. His arms curled up in front of his chest as he looked back at Hakuba hopefully, ears perked forward and tail standing up, the tip flicking around.
