Wait. That didn’t sound or feel right.
He blinked and moved them around more, cautiously raising a hand to touch the top if his head. And met something warm and fuzzy.
…Did Akako do something to me in my sleep or something?
The ears picked up a noise coming from the door and he turned just in time to see Hakuba coming into the room. They went flat against his skull again and he backed up slightly in his seat, only to notice something else didn’t seem right. But this time, he didn’t check. He didn’t really have to. A black tail curled around him and flicked around some, clearly visible from the front, causing the magician to stare at it for a moment before his face turned a bit pink.
What the… why ears and a tail?
…Oh, right. Hakuba. He glanced back up at the detective, hoping he hadn’t seen yet. The ears would be hard to spot if they just stayed down…. now if he could just get the tail under his shirt…
Hakuba was watching him rather intently. He still couldn’t place what was off, but he was sure it had to do with Kuroba’s hair. He couldn’t tell just what it was, but there was something different about it. He sighed and looked back towards the other’s face as he yawned, but eyes were drawn back towards his head as he caught movement. He tilted his head, brows furrowing together, when he noticed the twitching again.
It took him only two seconds to realize what he was seeing, and a blush quickly spread across his cheeks. What had been off before, was the fact the teen was now sporting, and trying to hide, a pair of cat ears. His eyes slid downwards, but the desk was in the way, though Hakuba was sure he’d find a cat tail to go along with the ears there.
“K-Kuroba-san!”
The ears reflexively made their way forward at Hakuba’s startled cry and the dark haired teen’s own face started to flush as well. His tail also slipped out from under the jacket, lashing back and forth in response to his embarrassment.
So much for trying to hide it..
Kaito turned his head away from the other, ears quickly drooping slightly to the sides, the one facing the detective still twitching a bit. He paused for a few moment before saying anything.
“…If you’re wondering where they came from, I wouldn’t be able to tell you. There when I woke up….”
