He didn’t answer right away as he looked back to see if the man who had shot at her had followed them. A sigh of relief escaped the thief upon seeing no one and he hugged her tightly, a soft smile on his lips. Why the man had tried to shoot her, he didn’t know.
He didn’t really care to know.
He was just happy the bullet hadn’t hit her.
Kid realised that she probably wouldn’t want any blood getting on her, so he pulled back, though he kept his hands on her shoulders. Red was starting to become evident on his white suit, coming his side. Thankfully it hadn’t hit anywhere more troubling, but he would still need to get it looked to soon…
“Is it so strange to protect someone you care about, Aoko-ojou?”
At first she was a bit surprised by his answer. But then she remembered his bleeding wound.
“Ah! Please wait, Kid!” she shouted as she reached for his jacket, holding it tight. “You’re bleeding..Please let me take care of the wound..It’s the least..I can do…”
He paused for a moment before sighing and gently placing his free hand on her back, pushing her alongside him. He’d been planning on going to Jii’s bar, but if Aoko was wanting to help…
“Very well, Aoko-ojou. But you’re likely not going to be able to here, so either way, we should get moving. There’s a store just around the corner, and I suppose it would be the quickest way to get first aid supplies… But I can’t exactly go in myself.”
