Napping at heists seemed to be becoming a reoccurring thing for Shinichi lately, or at least coming to heists not in the best of health. This time he’d actually napped while waiting for the thief and when he woke it was to the rustling of that well known cape. Hoping the master thief hadn’t realized he had been napping, he moved to try and stand, feeling off.
He wasn’t getting sick was he? He hoped not, KID wouldn’t be pleased at all.
“Took you long enough,” he teased, the long and fluffy tail behind him swishing playfully. He had no idea it was there. Nor that there were a matching pair of ears settled in his hair.
They actually twitched with every sound they caught and if it hadn’t seemed so normal to him he might have been more aware of them. Yawning and stretching slightly, ears perking up right, he looked up at the master thief and found himself curious at what had his attention. They’d locked eyes long enough for the thief to address him but that was it.“If I was a different person I’d take credit for it, but we both know Nakamouri-keibu doesn’t listen to anything I have to say detail wise.” They might have gotten closer to catching KID if they did. Blinking a moment as something clicked in his head, he looked up at the thief worriedly. “Are you all right? You seem distracted by something.”
He got his answer with a touch to something atop his head, the ear itself twitching almost in agitation though Shinichi had begun to purr at the attention. He had no idea what the thief was doing but he liked how it felt. Or did until realization of his question sunk in and he opened his eyes just enough to look up at him.
“Extra parts? What are you talking about, KID?”
The thief smiled and moved his hand down slightly to scratch at the base of the ear some before leaning in, reaching the other hand around the detective to gently bring the tail to where Shinichi could see it.

“Last I saw, you didn’t have this and a matching set of ears on top of your head. Think I would have noticed something so… fluffy.” He said, letting the tail pull away.
