rainydayprodigy-deactivated2014:
There was so much blood.
He had to get up, had to warn someone— his numb fingertips twitching as he tried to move, kicking and screaming against the invisible force holding him down. He was going to die he was going to die he was going to—
“Wake up!”
The scientist’s eyes— brimming with tears and fear— jerked open suddenly at the voice, frantically scanning the room before coming to focus on the face before him, his grey eyes widening even further in surprise.
Right. He’d left the window open. Anyone within a mile would hear him screaming bloody murder and go to check.
But this was the second floor.
“…How …Who are you?”
The boy cloaked in white seemed strangely familiar, though he’d never pin it to the one he met a few weeks ago in a million years.
Basil tried to sit up, stopped by hands firmly holding him down, and the position that should have been apparent earlier suddenly cleared his sleep fogged mind.
While his face turned every shade of red the scientist released his own hands— he’d drawn blood— from the other’s wrists, a palm wiping tears off his blushing face, turning his head to the side to avoid eye contact.
“…S-sorry.”
Silver eyes peered up at the phantom, blinking a few times in surprise that the stranger really did care more than he let on.Basil murmured some kind of thanks, a smile twitching on his face while the brunet bent down, finally turning his head up at the touch of silky gloved hands.
Familiar…?
But that thought was stolen when the point of weakness inside him swelled and he leaned forward, pressing his forehead against the thief’s shoulder. The scientist nuzzled closer and tightened his grip on the cape, the other’s touch relaxing him enough to speak.
“I thought I was gonna die…”
The thief tensed slightly when the other leaned against him, hand still resting on his head. That… hadn’t really been expected either.
Jeeze… You really shouldn’t trust some random person who came into your house…
He laughed silently some, amused despite himself. It wasn’t as if he minded. But most people didn’t exactly like unexpected visitors popping in through the window….
Kid paused at the blond’s next words, though, frowning slightly. That would certainly explain the violent episode… And possibly why he wanted to be so close to someone right now. To reinforce that he’s still alive…
After another moment passed, he wrapped his free hand around the other, pulling him in a bit more.

“…I guess we should make sure that thought is chased away, then. Because I don’t plan on allowing anything like that to happen, so it might want to find someone else to bother.”
