Kid tensed for a moment before allowing himself to relax. He hadn’t really expected the sudden trapping, but he wasn’t really too worried by it either. If this were about catching him because of his job, she could have done something else.
A moment passed and the thief looked down at her with a soft smile.
“…And why would you think I would want to escape, ojou-san?”
She couldn’t argue with his plain and simple logic, however she couldn’t explain her reasoning on such terms. It was mostly due to the fact that she wasn’t even exactly too sure as to why she felt compelled to trap him in the first place. Of course, now that she had him, she felt even less compelled to move, sure that he would remove himself from her grasp soon enough anyway despite his determination to tell her otherwise. But, as the moment stood, they both seemed to have reached an in-pass.
Her mind sought a reason to at least give him something to mull over while she worked the real one out in her mind. The only thing she came up with was, “I felt like it.” It wasn’t far from the truth, yet the driving force behind her desire to do it was something altogether different, her nerves failing her now that she had him.
The thief noted that the other still didn’t pull away, despite indicating that she hadn’t caught him because of wanting to turn him in. Which probably meant… she did want him for something. If it had been purely on whim, she likely wouldn’t feel the need to make sure he wouldn’t leave…

“Hmm… Is that so? How surprising. It’s not quite like you to act on impulses, from what I’ve seen…”
Not that he had seen much of her outside of heists, though. For all he knew, maybe it wasn’t odd. But at the very least, she’d never done something like it during his job…
