Hakuba noticed the doves, and knew he didn’t have long to rest. He caught his breath before looking around. There was no place to hide that would be sanitary enough for him to hide. He cursed and darted further down the alleyway, eyes scanning for something, anything he could use to hide. The only thing he did find was a dead end. He cursed colorfully, in English and looked up at the wall. It was high, but not too high. He took a few steps back, taking a breath before jumping up, grabbing onto the ledge and started to pull himself up.

He would have to be quicker then this.

The dove that had been on the ground flew after him, landing on the wall to where it wasn’t in the detective’s way. It wasn’t too much longer that it’s owner made his way to the entrance of the alley, cape returning to normal as soon as he touched down and ran.

Hmmm… A thief chasing down a detective…. Something has to be said for how strange that sounds…

Kid looked further down and saw the other starting to scale the wall, giving a mental sigh before calling out.

“Why are you trying so hard? You do realise I quite literally know where you live.”

His pace slowed some, but he was ready to speed up again if the detective did manage to get over the wall. The thief wasn’t as worried about Hakuba getting away, now that they were out in the open. The doves won’t be nearly as easy to lose, and he was confident he had more stamina than a sleep-deprived detective who was likely running on adrenaline right now.
