Hakuba couldn’t help but grin at the teens gaping. He took another sip of his wine before returning to his own food, eyes flicking upwards every once in a while to watch the other. This was actually quite lovely. Having dinner, peaceful conversations, no jabs no teasing. It was pleasant and he was enjoying this. He also liked the fact the other seemed to be enjoying his cooking, it was something he was always very proud of, considering he didn’t know many detectives who could cook a five star meal.
“I’m sure it’ll taste even better then it sounds.” Hakuba smirked and finished off his potatoes. “It is quite easy to make, I had all the ingredients before hand, as I always keep some spare cake bases in the freezer, the rest I made while I was waiting for dinner to cook.” Hakuba explained. “It was done just before you arrived and is sitting in the fridge, but that will be for later.”
Hakuba dabs the sides of his mouth once more and takes another sip of his wine, pouring himself another glass.
The dark haired teen was enjoying this, though he wasn’t going through his drink as quickly as the other. The food was excellent and the company was very much appreciated. He couldn’t really remember the last time he’d sat down at a table to eat with someone over a home cooked meal. It would have been before his mom had left to travel, in any case. Even if Hakuba had only invited him because the detective had gotten him as a ‘pet’ for a day…

He was happy with that.
A content hum was his only response to the explanation as he continued to eat.
