Ok, so he might’ve been wanting to mess with people a bit by dressing as closely to Kid as possible, while still not being Kid. It had seemed like a good idea at the time, and it wasn’t as though the outfit would be hard to get together…
So, with a grin, Kaito pulled his hand back from putting the finishing touches on the mask, quite proud of how it looked. And as detail-oriented as he was with things like this, he’d even put all the markings on the inside, which, by the way, had taken forever… but it had been worth it~
The magician admired his work for a minute before he noticed the clock almost marked the witching hour, and his grin grew into a wide smirk. Technically, people didn’t wear costumes until later in the day… but it wouldn’t hurt to wander around in costume now, would it? He was a bit to excited to be sleeping soon anyway…
With that thought, Kaito got up and went to the closet, where the rest of the outfit was being kept, grabbing the hangar and laying it across the bed and placing the mask off to the side as he changed clothes. only when everything was zipped, buttoned, and set in place did he pick the light metal up again and look at the front one more time before putting it into place, a wig and the hat soon following.
Everything now on, the magician went to check himself in the mirror, smile spread widely behind it’s cover.
Not bad at all~
He was already tapping a finger to his chin, wondering what to do first (should he visit someone, should he just wander around like this, maybe go see how the detectives or police react to seeing this costume when it’s not Kid’s outfit…) when the clock struck midnight.
And he froze.
Then he chuckled and walked out of the room, making his way to the front door.

“Twelve,”

“Eleven,”

“Ten,”

“Nine.”
The door was opened and he stepped out, cape fluttering some as a slight wind caught it. He shut the door behind him, taking out a cane and twirling it some as he walked out past the front gate.

“Seems that this day will be mine~”
