He gave the cookie a sniff. It seemed safe enough, but he was still wary. “You’re not a killer robot? Or someone in disguise who happens to be immune to something in the cookies?” He had seen The Princess Bride; he knew that trick.
The cookie was getting hard to resist.

“If I were trying to kill you with cookies, wouldn’t really matter what I said would it? Even if I said no to both, doesn’t exactly give you any more or less of a reason to trust me, now does it?”
Kaito twirled the treat he had and watched the other, still amused at all the caution over a cookie. Not that he could blame his counterpart entirely, but really now…
“It’s Cookie day, I made cookies, and if you want to be paranoid, that leaves more for me.” And with that, he finished the one in his hand and licked a few crumbs off his finger before contemplating which one to get next.
