He does have to blink quite a few times at the request, odd as it sounded. But it just sounded like the other person was curious to him, so…

“Sure?”

Oh this was something new. Well he couldn’t say he worked on modifying his droids to work on humans and create efficient soldiers. Oh lord no that’d be terrible. “I work mostly with the Space Department,” He easily lies and chuckles. “More specifically the branch that studies Dark Matter/Energy which makes up half the universe,” He explains. 

There is just something off about those words, but its so subtle it would go over most heads. He runs a gloved hand through his hair. There needed to be a way to get the conversation away from /him/. “You know I heard there have been a recent string of robberies from some thief who calls himself Kaitou Kid. I only just heard of this but only because a friend had complained to me.” 

Well, can’t say he knew much about space, other than general things like planets, some stars, and constellations. Well, and a few comets, from researching, but nothing related to dark matter… Though, the other did sound a bit strange saying that. Mostly because of the laugh, really, because it seemed a bit out of place… Seemed a bit nervous talking about it, really.

So the sudden subject change wasn’t entirely unexpected. Just… pushed at the small bit of suspicion that was growing in his mind, though he didn’t even know what he was suspicious about. All he knew was that the man wasn’t being entirely honest about his job, which was strange…

But the topic the other had jumped to distracted him, so he couldn’t focus much on the guy’s secrecy. He did have his own to deal with.

“Hmm… Hard for me not to have heard about him, with the people I know. Is your friend not a fan of phantom thieves? Because most people I hear about him from tend to like him… Well, aside from my friend Aoko, whose dad is the policeman trying to catch Kid. And the detective in my class also chasing him. And he’s a magician himself, so it’s hard not for me to be interested in the guy on my own.”
