His throat went tight and he swallowed down the pathetic sound that threatened to leave his lips as he wrapped his arms tight around the thief, burying his face in the crook of his neck.
The soothing motion and solid warmth of his double’s body and the soft whispers in his ear eased the shaking wracking his body into faint trembling instead and the tight hold on the back of the thief’s jacket loosened, just a tad, as the panic flooding his chest shrunk into something just a little more manageable.
“Sorry,” he whispered after a little while, voice quiet and strangely hoarse. “A-and thank you.”
The hold tightened for a moment, the thief giving a small kiss to the side of his other self’s head before tilting his own against it.

“You’re welcome. And you don’t need to apologise, it’s not your fault.” His voice was calm, soothing the other being more important. Though, he’s none too happy about this being caused either. Wished he could do more, but right now, he’ll be here for Kaito. He can do that much.
