He isn’t sure what he can get for the magician that can snatch whatever he wants, so all he has to offer is a promise and an awkward hug around one of his legs. “Next heist, I won’t bring any of my things with me.”

The thief blinked at the leg hug before crouching down to give the detective a slightly less awkward one-armed hug and a grin in return.

“Oh?~ In that case, I guess I should start making plans~”

All tease, he won’t do much different than usual. Though, yes, the lack of gadgets after him will be appreciated, since the other does well enough with just his head.

Ran was nervous, but the opportunity had presented itself a little too easily, cornering the thief in the hallway. With all of the strength she possessed she pushed his body up against the wall, fingers holding him to it. She could have done anything, but she chose to frantically kiss him, her lips hungry for his.

…Well, there went his poker face. A kiss hadn’t come to mind as one of the first things Ran would do after coming at him like that, despite the nicer relation between them, and he’d honestly been more than a little worried, not for his safety so much as simply being unwilling to do anything to her, and… well…

Luckily what she did promptly shut down those thoughts. And most others. Possibly made him forget to breathe a few moments until the thief relaxed more and let his eyelids fall closed as he pressed his lips into hers in return, meeting the fervent ‘attack’ willingly.

She can’t shove him — she’s too small, too nice — but she hoped that he wouldn’t mind if she propped him against the wall and nudged their noses together, hands cupping his face before she grazes her lips against his softly. (aaahha i tried? i’m sorry.)

Might have been mildly confused at first, and caught off guard, but minded, he did not. At all. Though… hiding the heat coming to his face from the sudden action and closeness wasn’t going to work anytime soon.

Despite the definite pause to allow the magician to gather himself, a light kiss came in return.

You know, I have half-a-mind to find you
now and see if this ‘phone dying when I’m
around thing’ actually works.” He plucked
the card up and looked it over, then
   scowled at the transmitter.

He had to be close enough to shoot this thing
accurately, but he couldn’t find him from
where he was standing now. Dammit.

And good luck trying to find him. He’s in his ‘incognito’ clothes right now, and he sure as heck wasn’t staying near after getting the card in place, so he just casually wandered off like any other random passerby. Didn’t want to test how close he’d have to be for it to take effect, so he’ll stick with his safety of ‘card shot’ distance and then stay in range for the transmitter to work.

The thief does know how not to bring attention to himself. Sometimes.

“Oi, oi… Give me a break, it’s not like I use my phone to just help me steal things. I do have a more normal life I’d like it to be working in, too. I doubt you’d be happy to get phone troubles, hmm, tantei-kun?”
