initiatefaliara reblogged your photo and added:

Wait, what is it about the picture that’s caught your attention? What’s it called?

(Not sure if it’s an actual known painting or not. I’m not familiar enough with works of art to know myself. More that the content of the picture having a father and son and being one of the only pieces that was given a focus in that particular episode that caught my notice immediately. The only other one that seemed to have a focus aside from that one is…)

(This one. Which actually looks important, but, again, I don’t know paintings all that well. Considering this one is the one Jack was looking at, it may even be foreshadowing who he is or what’s going to happen, but… *shrugs* If it is, then kudos to A-1 for this episode, really. If not, then it’s just me focusing too much on why they put more detail and emphasis on showing these paintings over the others.)

(it’s goddamn cold where the heckity are you in texas)

(Little northeast of Dallas. And since I work overnight, it feels even colder then… And this isn’t the first time my car’s gotten ice on it, just the first time this year it’s actually frozen shut when I needed to use it. (And when I had to leave work as well, so my dad had to pick me up.) :V )

(On the other hand, got to see the sea of untouched, fresh snow over the largely empty parking lot. May have just been two inches or so, but that be rare here. I do love the cold and snow, but I’d rather be able to get in the car and attempt to drive, if it’s all the same.

…Kai says I should have made snow angels. Or build a snowman. Kai, I was on lunch break. Biiiiit more focused on having to buy and eat food at work when I normally don’t than playing in the snow. :V )

((I’m sure you’ll be able to handle the trouble… Unless he uses his skills to go visit the doves and messes with them… You must train him well.))

“Yeah… Though I think he’ll learn not to mess with them on his own. I should say, it’s not them I’m worried about. They know how to deal with cats. They’ll need to learn not to mess with him too badly, too… Such is getting a new pet.”

A cute kitten is left outside his house. It’s a Scottish fold with a lovely gold coloration. The note left with it says “please take good care of it he needs a good home. Thank you.” And he is gone as soon as he knocks the door and rings the door bell.

Kaito turned his head curiously towards the door at the knock and doorbell. Odd… Aoko hadn’t said anything about stopping by, and he wasn’t expecting anyone…

After a quick moment of thought, he got up to walk over and look out through the peephole. …Which made the strangeness grow when he didn’t see anyone standing there. A prank? Hmm…

The magician deliberated before moving to open the door to look outside, keeping the chain on until he noticed what had been left. And then it was soon removed so that he could check on the kitten, making sure the cute thing was alright before taking the note in hand and looking it over, a brief flash of confusion passing over his face and he looked around. He didn’t even know anyone who would do something like this, and it seemed weird for someone to leave something like this at some random house…

A mew and the sudden feeling of a rough tongue on his fingers made him blink and look down at the kitten, staring a minute before letting out an amused breath and gently petting it. Then he smiled and carefully took it in his arms.

“Well… whoever left you seemed to think this might be a good home… And I don’t mind having a house guest. Have to warn you now, though, best not to mess with the doves…” Kaito slowly stood, looking around once more before stepping back and shutting the door, already making a list of things he’d need to take care of his new charge.
