And those last two letters cleared up any confusion Kaito may have gotten at seeing the dove. Had to wonder what the other was testing exactly, though a few ideas were already starting to come to mind…

After putting the paper away, he turned to his temporary new guest and smiled as he gently gently scratched her neck.

“You wouldn’t mind sticking around for a while, would you? Have to say… I’m pretty interested in what he’s up to.” And maybe choosing to send it a different day could change something, who knew?

Kaito almost didn’t notice the other person taking shelter under the overhang, relived as he was to get some shelter. Thought he’d be fine getting groceries with a small umbrella, but noooo, it had to start raining harder… Guess it was nice he hadn’t gotten anything that could be ruined by some rain, but all the same, he’d like to not be soaked on the way home.

The other moving did tell him he wasn’t the only one waiting here, though. So as he put away the (near useless) umbrella, Kaito glanced over and offered the other a small smile.

“You got stuck out in this, too?”
