“Hope is a lie.”

Kid didn’t pull away, but did raise an eyebrow at the other suddenly moving closer to whisper something to him. At the words, though, he let out a small laugh and turned to look at her.

“Hmm…. It can be a lie. But it can also be turned into truth. Hope is wishing for something, so there’s no guarantee that what you want will always happen. But even if the outcome doesn’t seem likely to happen, is holding on to a small lie so bad?”

“Unless she had no will to live a normal life, though I’ll admit though she is quite the odd one.” She said with a shrug. "Though a willing host is easier to deal with then one who fights all the time.“

She was not happy with the lack of a real emotional response, there was something but not much and she couldn’t quite place what it was.

"And do you consider taking over a person’s life a healthy thing?” she added. “If so I’d guess I’m not a parasite.”

Taking the lack of a reaction to her movement as a good thing, she moved a little closer again.  It was dark and she was willing to risk getting close to the so called unpredictable thief for a bit of a better look.

He tilted his head forward  to let the shadows fall further, but still no other reaction to her actually coming closer. And he still had a slightly amused smile. Mostly still caught up in curiosity than worry, even if he maintained the general caution he had as a thief.

“Well, I can’t say whether or not it’s healthy… depends on the person, really. If they were self-destructive to begin with, then yeah, it might. But you do have a point… perhaps you could be a part-time parasite? I mean, she let you in of her own will right now, so you aren’t really one if you aren’t taking something from her she wasn’t willing to give.”

“No Escape”

The thief blinked a couple of times before smiling at her.

“Wasn’t planning on it, Aoko-ojou.”

“Great! Then let’s go!” was all she said, before she took his hand in her own and started running to the park.

The sudden pull caught Kid slightly off guard, but he recovered quickly and kept pace, a small smile coming up at her enthusiasm. Really, she didn’t have to ‘trap’ him to ask him something like this. She seemed to get along with him better than he would have hoped, so as long as it didn’t seem like she was trying to catch him, the thief didn’t mind her asking things of him too much.

“Stay away from me.”

The thief startled a bit, mildly surprised at the sudden command.

“…Ok, ojou-san. I won’t come any closer. But may I at least ask what you’re doing up here?”

He stood, putting his hands in his pockets and leaning away, tilting his head and smiling at the other.

“It’s not often I find someone so young waiting on the rooftop at one of my heists. Well, aside from tantei-kun.”

She glanced around again to see if they were still there. Ai mentally facepalmed, of course she couldn’t see them it was pitch black.

She then realized that KID was still talking to her,
“Terribly sorry, but I have no intention of leaving yet.”

The thief looked back at her, head tilting to one side. Even if he himself was wary of possible snipers, nothing should happen to the other if he were to leave himself… But regardless of what he’d said, curiosity still pulled…

“Hmm? You gave me a message and I don’t see anyone else up here… unless you were just planning on watching the skyline for a while, I’d think getting back to your friends would be better…”

“EXCUSE ME YOUNG MAN do you have a sec? I’m running a survey. It won’t be long, I swear.”

“Hmm? Sure, I don’t mind…”

Kaito trailed off when he saw who had called out. He might not remember every random person he met, but someone who’d said he would be able to figure out who Kid is wasn’t the type he’d forget… But it did make him wonder if they really would be able to.

He smiled at the other, putting his hands in his pockets as he completely turned to face them.

“I’m not doing anything right now anyway.”

”..Point. Guess I should head to Osaka during the week-end, maybe my luck would turn.”

Xie didn’t really want Hattori to win; xie just wanted Kudo to lose. He sounded a bit like an asshole to xir opinion -but yeah, voices were often a bit different at tv, it’d been a while since xie’d last heard anything involving him, and xie was a little judgemental according to some people -who were right, by the way—
“Bah, at worst it’d just be another shoe lost- I’m starting to wonder if that idiot is making a museum with them or something.”
Buuuut xie was trailing off again.
“Can’t help it. I just love to bet. As long as it isn’t something too important, of course.”
“Can’t say I’m not a bit of a gambler myself. Comes somewhat with being a magician.”
Though… usually not with physical possessions on the line. If it was in play, usually no actual gambling at all, other than candy and ones like strip poker. Not so playful… well, losing a gamble he takes as Kid wouldn’t be good in all areas…
“Shoes, though… that is a strange thing to bet. Pick that as the stake every time or…?”

(Okay, I think I’ve recovered all of the sleep I lost from having relatives over for Thanksgiving (working through those nights while also trying to spend time with family during the day is not fun, even if it was worth it), I have two days off, and I’m in a draft working mood.~ So, general apology for a lot of waiting on some of your parts, even if I know it’s not needed for most of you. There will be some reply spam shortly, not much, and then bed for me. And I’ll get to more after I wake up. Current count is 113, probably take away at least ten of those, for various reasons…. I can totally do this. *cracks knuckles* At least one reply will get to everyone before I start on those who have multiple threads, with one exception of a certain person who I seem to have finished replies for that I didn’t post at the time, so… yeah, she’ll get a few before I start the actual round of multi-replies. Apologies for spam, but look forward to replies soon-ish. If not now, then within the next 24 hours for certain.)

Come on, guys! You know me better than that!

(…Mun has to interject, just because of those pictures~

True. Kid doesn’t kill, and wouldn’t/hasn’t made a plane explode. To my knowledge. (And if he had, if wouldn’t have people in it.) Buuuuuut…

Paintings by famous artists stolen? Hmmm…

And the main reason I felt the need to reblog this and add stuff to it…

Ehehehe….)

“…Who’s side are you on, anyway?”

(Oh, come on. You know I love ya, but how could I resist? Besides, people find it strange nowadays when you use an actual gun, much less when stuff like this happens. I’d say you should be safe, Kai~)

looking-through-time:

((I don’t think I’ve ever been intimidated by a double of my muse, but I second this because I think it can lead to some seriously interesting and introspective threads for the muses themselves by being made to interact with other versions of themselves, and being made to see their similarities and differences. It can make the muse suddenly be very aware of themselves and decide to change some parts they don’t like about themselves, and overall discover things about themselves that they might never have otherwise.))

((Class clowns do their best to make everyone else happy, so they can share in it, so they don’t fall apart. It feels so much better to laugh in public than to cry. It feels like it’ll hurt less if you can just smile the pain away.))

(Oh, no, I get why he doesn’t look sad very often. Just doesn’t help when ya need an icon for it and you can only questionably find five out of a thousand and a half. ^^;

And though he does smile, when he’s really sad, even if no one can see him, he makes…

This face. Not having to do with how he hides his feelings, just that he never really ever looks all that sad most of the time. Like he can’t actually show it much at all. Goes beyond just a mask that he wears when he doesn’t want people to see how he feels in public. Smiles come more easily to him, and he chooses to focus more on the good than the bad. Like the good times he had with his father than the fact that he isn’t there anymore. (Granted, he’s also had eight years to cope with that, but even when everything about his father came back, he responded more in anger than sadness.) He just focuses on other things.)
