Hakuba closed his eyes and worked on calming down, something he’d become almost pro at before opening them again. He stared down where the thief stood, and he couldn’t see anything, but he was guessing there was glass. Didn’t really make him feel all that safe, but he wasn’t afraid of heights, so he slowly walked to the ledge.

“Just what are you planning my thief?” Hakuba toed at the area he’d seen Kid walk with his toe.

Still not answering directly, but at least the cautious stepping showed that he had Hakuba’s interest.

“Planning? Well, I did just ask…”

And the smirk returned as he brought his hand up, fingers pressed together.

And gave a snap.

The area where the thief stood started to get lit up by many small lights, spread about at random. Like a small grouping of stars. The lights continued to flicker on, back to where Hakuba was trying to test and on behind Kid, forming a path that led to the Sky Tree tower. It was… somewhat reminiscent of what he’d done during the Emperor’s Gold Seal heist, however this time… he wasn’t making an escape.

“…if you wanted to see my world.~”

Hakuba made a soft sound and rushed forward, intent on catching him, but he noticed that he wasn’t falling, and really, he was going to kill him. His heart raced and there was panic in his eyes, hand going to his chest, breaths coming out in pants.

“You bloody idiot! I thought you were jumping!”

The grin fell slightly, though amusement still flickered in his eyes.

“Then you obviously don’t know me as well as I thought you did, tantei.~”

Kid didn’t seem to be too concerned about how worried Hakuba had gotten, simply crossing his arms in front of him and tilting his head. Really, he had his glider, so he didn’t see why on earth his detective would think he’d do something like that.

…Not that the concern wasn’t appreciated. Just unnecessary.

“So now that you know I’m not planning on taking the shortest way to the bottom of the building, care to answer the question?”

Hakuba blinked as he watched him move, slight fear raising in his chest when he went onto the ledge, and he had to swallow around a lump in his throat. Thoughts of him falling, or jumping, or something going wrong, him loosing him…

“W-what would that be, my thief?”

The smirk widened.

“Would you like to take a look into my world?”

And with that, he took a couple of slow, careful steps back. Off of the ledge. And onto the air, coming to a rest a short distance from where he’d stepped off.

Hakuba didn’t know what he’d been expecting, but well, nothing wasn’t really it. Leave it to the thief to leave him feeling both overwhelmed and underwhelmed at the same time. A slight pink tinged his cheeks and he debated leaving to change. Instead he made his way over to KID and stopped before him, tilting his head, eyes scanning a second time, trying to see if he’d missed anything, but he couldn’t see a thing.

“Of course. I pride myself on being punctual."

"And it’s very much appreciated,” he stated, straightening, with the smile turning into a slight smirk when he saw the other looking around.

A good magician never lets you see anything until he wants it to be seen, tantei…

“Now, then…”

Kid turned to walk over to the edge of the roof, lightly hopping up onto the ledge. He stared out at the tower, the streets, the lights… the city in general, before turning back to Hakuba. His hands went behind his back and he leaned forward some, cape waving around him in the wind, and the grin never leaving his face.

“…I’ve a question for you, tantei.”

Hakuba pulled the trench coat tighter around himself as he made his way to the top of the stairs. The trench coat itself was a bit heavy, which would help against the cold. He leaned back against the wall of the elevator and let out a sigh. He was starting to regret his own decision, but he was also a bit nervous. He had no idea what KID had in store for him either.

Once at the top floor it was just the stairs up to the rooftop and he pushed open the door, trench coat securely buttoned against what ever chill would come, and prying eyes. He was also exactly on time, punctual as usual.

“KID?” Hakuba called out, and looked in the direction of what KID had done.

The thief smiled when he saw the door open and his detective stepped out, the urge to touch pulling even harder. However, rather then approaching Hakuba, he simply brought a hand to his chest and bowed.

“Thank you for coming, tantei. Right on time, as expected~”

Kid resisted the urge to show why he’d asked Hakuba to come here specifically just yet. Share a few words, and then show off what he’d done. For now, though, the area seemed bare, but for the white clothed thief and his detective.

Hakuba let out a breath when he was gone, and looked at the place where he had been. He walked over to it and reached forward towards where his chest would have been before pulling back and heading home. He needed to get changed.

And about five minutes shy of an hour later, the thief nodded to himself as he went through one last inspection and made sure that everything was set. If he hadn’t done this as a spur of the moment decision, he probably would have been able to do more, but as it was, he’d been pushing just to even get the half completed project finished.

And now all Kid had to do was wait for his detective to arrive. While he didn’t usually get restless often while in costume, he couldn’t help but shift his weight from one leg to another, his monocle charm spinning some in the wind. He was nervous. For many reasons.

And starting to realise he may have gotten somewhat addicted to being in contact with his detective, considering he’d taken the opportunity every chance he’d gotten since he was given permission to lean against, hug, kiss, or just touch the other in general. That… probably wasn’t good… because his own self-inflicted rule of no touch for his ‘game’ was making him feel like he was going through withdrawal, though not so bad that he’d let it show. Keeping himself busy had helped, but with the prospect of seeing Hakuba again… it was starting to hurt.

But the thief was still going to remain stubborn, hiding his discomfort as he stood, waiting for the other to arrive. He did glance around, but from his current position in the middle of the rooftop, there wasn’t much to see beyond sky, the tower standing a ways beyond the only structure able to stand taller than the one he’d invited his detective to.

Well, hopefully Hakuba didn’t have anything against heights…

“I’m sure I’ll be quite alright.” Hakuba wiggled a finger. “Your hour is ticking away, my thief. I suppose you wouldn’t want me to arrive early, now would you?” He grinned and oh, he had plans of his own, but those could wait a bit.

Indeed he wouldn’t, though it wasn’t getting what was needed that would take so long. Just the set-up…

“Right…. Guess I’ll be off, then. See you soon, tantei~

And with the tip of the hat and a puff of smoke, he’s gone.

Hakuba took the card and looked it over before looking up at him. “Alright, I can do that; the rooftop?” He tilted his head, but he would still go, though he was rather curious. “In an hour then.” Hakuba paused. “There anything special I should wear?”

So easy to catch interest….

After the card was taken, he smirked and pulled back completely. No need to stay close after getting a promise of a reunion, after all. They could continue the close proximity game later.

“Hmm… Could get a bit windy, so if you’re prone to wind chill, you might want to dress a bit warmer….” He paused and turned his head back to his detective and winked.

“Unless of course you’d rather use me as a heat source, of course.~”

Not even going to try and hide the suggestiveness that time.

“Hmm, that is a very good question, my thief.” Hakuba raised a hand, fingers brushing the air by his cheek, but not touching. “You know this area much better then I do, why don’t you pick somewhere.”

The thief didn’t even bat an eye at the closeness of the hand, just focusing on the other’s face. Regardless of just how much he wanted to grab Hakuba or do something to him, he wouldn’t. And though he’d pushed the touch boundaries with his detective until there practically were none, from after he’d learned about the other’s phobia, he’d gotten quite good at reeling in the urges.

Not that he’d had to use the restraint much recently…

Kid moved around to the open side, stopping beside his detective’s shoulder, playful smile dancing on his face as though he could care less that there was no contact.

“Very well… I do have a place in mind, though I’d need to get a few things before going there. Mind meeting me…” A snap of his fingers and a card appeared, with an address written on it, which he held out to where the arm was circling Hakuba to hold it directly in front of his chest. “…here? In an hour, and preferably on the rooftop.~”
