“You’re warm.” (Because, all of the cuddles)

patientxpetals:

Gee, she wondered why that could be.

Huffing through her nose, she turned her eyes away and tried to ignore the fact that he had moved in to cuddle. She didn’t mind, not even a little bit, but she didn’t want to make that obvious. Besides, there wasn’t a doubt in her mind that he was only being cute because he wanted something.

Turning her head back to glance at him, her cheeks became red as she bashfully buried her nose into his short hair.

”That’s sweet an’ all, but ya ain’t gettin’ any more of m’ candy.”

The magician just laughed some, grin on his face and arms wrapped around her more from the side from the side than anywhere as he rested his head on her shoulder. He wouldn’t say the thought hadn’t crossed his mind that there were likely ways to win her favour to gain access to her stash, but that hadn’t quite been his intention for the hugging.

“Nice as candy would be, I don’t recall anyone saying that cuddles would get me any sweets. Not everything has to have an ulterior motive, you know.~”

Though, honestly, yes, this one did. It just didn’t have to do with the candy.

themoonlightthief:

It was almost impossible to stop the snicker that was threatening to burst from his lips, but he managed, snorting lightly as a small grin stretched across his face.

Alright. Maybe he wasn’t that much of a robot.

A cyborg, then?

“Oh no, how terrible. I’m caught,” he sighed, dramatically, and went lax in his counterpart’s hold. “Someone, please, save me from this terrible fate.”

“There’s no one around to help you right now, magician-san.~ You’ll just have to accept it.~”

Hmm… let’s see what happens when he realises that the white suited thief just shifted to kiss him on the forehead.

Imagine your icon trying to climb a tree. They trip and fall into a trashcan. They cannot get out of the trashcan. You can’t find your icon. You’ve looked everywhere. Two days later, you go to take out the garbage and find them inside of the trashcan. They have befriended a raccoon.

“That so…” His eyes flickered upwards, briefly, before slowly closing again as he let out a quiet breath, not finding it in himself to feel bothered by the fact that another version of himself – or a robot, he still wasn’t sure which yet – was currently cuddling him.

It felt nice.

“Not gon’ try t’ strangle me or anythin’, are ya…?”

A soft chuckle escaped the thief, amused that his counterpart was still thinking he intended to attack him or something. Well, if nothing else, it was a fun game of ‘oh yes, I’m definitely a robot’.

“Aww… you guessed my plan again. Whatever shall I do?”

Sarcasm? Teasing? They sounded quite a bit alike.

“…But at least this time I already have you, so you can’t stop me.~”

And at that, he did hug the other tighter, though it could hardly be called strangling, and continued grinning while continuing with the cuddles. Despite what he said, the other could escape any time, really.

themoonlightthief:

The much too solid arms wrapped around him and the weight resting on top of his head was more than enough to pull him awake and he slowly opened his eyes, gaze drifting downwards.

…He knew that suit.

“…Oi,” he muttered, not bothering to move to try to shake the other off. Hey, he was warm, alright? “What’re y’ doing’.”

“Nothing much.~”

Kid nuzzled the other’s hair some. Yep, really not caring much about who he was cuddling right now. Cuteness and sleepiness demanded to be snuggled with.

“Just couldn’t resist coming over after seeing you there.~”

themoonlightthief:

And cue some sleepy grumbling and halfhearted swatting. No, stop. Too sleepy for this. Better be a dream or someone’s getting their hair dyed rainbow.

A small chuckle and the possible dream thief stops poking, at least. But he soon moves around to lightly wrap his arms around the other’s neck in a hug and put his head on top of the other’s, grinning, possibly feeling a bit too warm and solid to simply be a hallucination. Seemed he wasn’t too concerned about possible consequences of casually messing with his other self, this one.

Hush~

The thief didn’t look up. Though he had been the one to come over to the other’s house, he didn’t want the detective to see him like this…

As he recalled the events from earlier that night, the tears wouldn’t stop. He could still feel the hand of the man he had tried to save, just before his grip had…

A choke escaped him and he lowered his head even more.

“There was nothing I could do…”

He had one in particular he wanted to share should he ever ask. It seemed like one the thief might get a kick out, if he knew the thief as well as he thought he did. Maybe one day.

He had been surprised, however, that his guess on the crows had been wrong. So it meant that whoever had killed the original KID and was chasing after KID the current was a separate person. Maybe he could have Hakuba help him look into it.

Right now what he really wanted was to keep him awake but he was definitely losing the battle against sleep now. “If… you’re still here in the morning we’ll talk then,” he murmured, hand moving to rub a hand against his back.

“But… I promise you won’t lose me, not to the crows, not to anyone.”

In the morning? He did have to wonder for a moment if he would still hang around after this. Usually, leaving someone else alone without them knowing he’s leaving was something he tried to avoid, but… well, he wasn’t exactly going to be as willing to continue when he woke up.

The thief hesitated a moment before nodding and closing his eyes. Not quite promising that he would be here in the morning -though he most likely would-, but at least agreeing to talk some if he was.

“…W’ldn’t… le’ th’m t’ke y’… ‘nyway…”

And with that last, sleep-slurred sentence, he finally let sleep overtake him, arms relaxing their tight hold as he drifted off.

Hush~

A choke escaped him and he lowered his head even more.

“There was nothing I could do…”

He listened in silence, even when he paused. It wouldn’t do to interrupt him, especially not when he had showed him the same kindness. But he didn’t let go of him the entire time, hold tightening some even.

“That… some how doesn’t surprise me,” he replied when he was sure the other was done for the moment, resting his cheek on the thief’s head again. “My dad used to tell me stories of KID, now that I think about it. I believe he chased him for a time. I suppose I should have noticed that you looked younger then what KID should have."

It hurt to hear him sound so pained and angry, it made him wonder who the original had been to the thief he held now for such pain. Of course he had an idea but now seemed like a bad idea to ask.

"Was it the crows?” he asked instead, fingers threading through the thief’s hair once more. “Is that why you’re so adamant about being the only one to deal with them? Because you’ve lost someone to them already?”

Even if Shinichi wasn’t surprised, the thief he held was a bit startled to know that the other had heard things about his father as Kid. He hadn’t heard that Kudo senior ever went after the first thief, and Jii never mentioned it either. Not that it really made too much of a difference, but it was something he’d need to keep in mind. When he was in a better state, Kid would likely ask about some of those stories.

“If it’d been them, I’d have pro’bly told you…”

Yeah, the petting was not helping him want to stay awake. Any focus he might have was being lost to the haze that was slowly growing again, now that he had gotten past the thing he’d fought himself to say.

“…But y’s… Don’t want t’ lose anyone ‘lse…” he said, curling into the detective more.
