get a huge urge
to RP Kaito Lupin whenever I read that oneshot.
I can’t, because I already do a bad job keeping up with the two muses I have, and he’d be even stranger to try and get into the RP fandom as his own person in some ways… Since he’d more likely just be taken for an AU Kaito, even if Lupin came first… He essentially is Kaito, just… think about it.
He’d be a slightly more normal character, granted. He’s not a professional and international thief, nor was his father, despite his name being a double hit for ‘thief’. He causes problems at school and steals test scores, but not overly a criminal like his more well-known successor. Still a magician, still far too skilled and bright for his age, but… no Kid.
Lupin is a Kaito that never became Kid. Technically, we never even hear anything about his parents, so they could still be alive. And you actually see Aoko’s mom.
…I half want this, or that we at least get a possible special for it at some point, like they did with some of Gosho’s other short stories… Unlikely to happen, as Magic Kaito has overshadowed it’s precursor, but I can dream. An MK anime was a dream up until a few years ago, so… I can at least hope for a special. (Pft. Since the first MK special was ‘The Secret Birth of Kaitou Kid’, it could be considered, the real secret birth of Kaitou Kid.)
How many of the new MK fans from the anime side are gonna know about the first Kaito, hmm….)
Kaito blinked at the sudden new weight on his back, a small sound of surprise escaping him before he turned his head to look at Enzio. Sure, he’d been laying down himself, but it was more than a little unexpected for the other to do the same on top of him.
“Hmm… When exactly did I turn into a bed?” There’s no real seriousness in the question. He really doesn’t mind the action and it’s mostly a tease, even if there might be a touch of actual inquisitiveness.
He isn’t either, and sure maybe he had no real reason to be here but whatever. A hand moves to hold his.
“You can fall asleep, I’ll watch over you,” he says softly while trying not to yawn.
HIs eyes opened slightly at the hand holding, a little surprised, but soon just gave a soft smile.
“Weren’t you the one saying you were tired?” Kaito lightly chuckled before closing his eyes and going lax again. “…But thanks.”
For all that he’d said that, he might end up taking the other’s offer up soon, considering his breathing was already evening out.

He’s glad the other can’t see his face because he’s blushing right now. If that was not the most sweetest thing he’s heard from someone.
“I suppose,” he says casually and gives a small smile. “If you need to me move at any point or you overheat let me know.”
He would hope not though. Human touch meant a lot to him. He loved the warmth of others that his droids could never give him.
“Alright. I think I’m good for a while, though…”
Yes, the magician’s more than fine right now. Quite content and relaxed, possibly bordering on drowsiness, though he’d originally just been laying down to rest, not nap. Ah, well. He’s not complaining about it.

Content in knowing he wasn’t going to pushed off he moved to make sure he could better hold the other in his arms. His head rested just above the others and he felt for the first time content in quite awhile.
“I’m surprised you think I’m warm. Normally people tell me I’m much to frigid for that.”
Kaito gave a small sigh of contentment himself before humming at the comment.
“I dunno… Maybe not everyone is warm on their own, but a lot of people just need to be given some to work with first. A normal blanket isn’t really warm either until you put it over someone, right? And if it’s not over something that gives off heat, it can’t do much on it’s own…”

“Because you are comfortable,” he says with a small hum and just wraps arms around him. “I’ve been very tired the last few days.”
He’s not gonna lie that the other smelled good and that’s partially the reason because that’s just creepy.
…Can’t really imagine he’d be more comfortable than a bed, but he’d not going to push the other off. After waiting a moment, the magician slowly relaxed more under the other, moving his head back down.
“Hmm… can’t say you’re not comfortable yourself… Guess if I’m the bed, you’re the blanket, then.”
Certainly felt a lot like that… The warmth and weight felt nice, actually.

Sera had somehow not noticed that she had gotten stung until early allergy symptoms started setting in, and when she rummaged through her pockets she realized that she had forgotten her auto-injector at the hotel. To make it worse, the hotel was in Beika and she was in Ekoda, and she had no idea of where the nearest hospital was. Trying to keep calm despite the fact that it was already starting to get harder to breathe, she stopped the nearest person she could find.
“Do you know…where the hospital is? I…I can’t breathe…”
“Kaito…huh?” Sera automatically scratched at the sting on her wrist, barely avoiding the stinger that was still there.
“I hope…they…get here…” She thought she could hear approaching sirens, but it could have been her own desperation talking. “You…hear…that?”
Oh good, it wasn’t his imagination. He almost wanted to sigh in relief, but that could wait.
“Yeah, I hear it. They should be here any minute now. You’ll be okay.”

Forcing a smile, Sera let out a weak laugh at his comment. “Heh…You know…I don’t…know your name….” Hopefully she’d be getting help soon, her wheezing for air was getting worse. The scared teen shot a glance at the street, trying to see if the ambulance had arrived yet.
His smile fell into a gentler one when he noticed how she was sounding, though showed no nervousness of his own. He didn’t want her getting scared any more than she already was if she thought he was worried about her condition as well.
“Kuroba Kaito,” a hand came up to scratch his cheek as he gave a small laugh, “I’d say it’s a pleasure to meet you… but… Probably isn’t on your end…”
The magician followed her gaze down the street, still not seeing anything, but could he hear sirens? Hope his imagination wasn’t messing around with him…
“They’ll get here in time. Don’t worry, some bee isn’t going to be taking you out today if I have anything to say about it.”

“Thanks…And yeah…it happens a lot…” Honestly, if someone got it right first try, then it was because they knew her somehow or she was in her school uniform at the time.
“Well, guess I’ll be an exception,” he commented, grinning as he sat back to wait.
Yeah, exception being that he got jump kicked in the face for getting it wrong… Doubt many others got that treatment. Warranted, yes, but jeez…
Hmm… been a couple of minutes since he called… Should take maybe five more? A bit longer? Either way, he’ll keep an eye on her to make sure she’s okay when they come to get her.
