(Current status: 83 icons edited out of 203. 203 being the final count going through all of his appearances in DC, nothing from MK thus far. :V
Much as I like making icons and edits, I think I may have a slight problem. On the plus side, it’s fairly calming, even if I’m not really stressed right now. I’m doing basically the same thing I did with that one Hakuba icon I made, taking ones that even have characters or text bubbles on part of him and editing it out to make it like it never existed. Liiikeee….)

(Hmm…. Some areas look slightly off, but I think it’s worth it to get some of the faces.)
“Well, stay as long as you need, Koneko-chan~” He says with a kind smile and continues to pet him. “Knowing them they probably will cease the chase in a few more minutes. Although why they bring out an entire force for you…is beyond me.”
His voice seems to grow a bit colder, less warm and inviting.
“They could be putting themselves to better use after all there are so many unsolved murders out there…and one “great” detective is not enough…especially when you have on going cold cases. No way to identify who killed them or why…”
“I sometimes wonder if the Japanese police force really does turn a blind eye to what happens in the shadows, you know?” He asks and resumes the petting he never realized he stopped.
The thief blinked at the sudden change in tone. And then his ears went back and he bristled as Enzio continued talking, though not in fear or anything along those lines.
No, the words annoyed him, and he pulled away from the other’s hand to pick the top hat up, just holding it for now. …Annoyed might not actually be the best choice of wording… More like… offended. Or maybe defensive, but neither for himself.
“Why they send a force after me is because that’s their job. Nakamouri-keibu and the task force aren’t homicide detectives. They’re in division two, not one. Two deals with robberies. So sending them after a thief and not murderers is to be expected. Things have gone wrong at heists and fake heists before, and you know what they have to do? Call in the other division. Not all police work with violent crimes.” He looked down at the hat, tracing his fingers around the rim, an almost absent gaze.
“…As far as cold cases go, there’s a reason they’re called that. Things come to a standstill in those cases, and other crimes are constantly taking place. They can’t keep spending time on ones that grind to a halt or can’t be explained when more people are actively getting harmed… They have to work. And they do their jobs. They can only deal with so much, which is why people like detectives do better. Private detectives have the time and freedom to look into things without having to constantly worry when something else comes up.”
A moment passed passed before Kid blinked and turned his head up towards Enzio again.
“Ah… Apologies… Just…” He let out a breath, another pause. “..Thank you for the offer to stay, but I should take my leave now. I’m sure they’ve already moved elsewhere looking for me, so I should be able to find somewhere less intrusive to wait.”

A rub of her chin and a hum – yes, she’s seriously considering what sort of flower would look good in his hair. “Maybe somethin’ small an’ blue t’ match yer eyes. Or somethin’ colorful, like confetti.”
Oops. Seemed like he’d gotten her caught on something. Not that he minded the idea of things like flowers in his hair, but the magician hadn’t quite thought she’d be serious in trying to figure out what’d suit him.
“Well, you can try and choose a colour. But nothing too small. It wouldn’t be too fun to try and pick things out if they get tangled.”
“I don’t think that will ever happen again. I’m planning to stay and never leave again unless people close to me show signs of not wanting me to be here.” There was a possibility that something like that could happen right?
“Yep, you should be good, then. Even if he got mad, I know Kaito wouldn’t want you to leave again. And I’m not sure how much it counts for, but I don’t either.”
The thief kept the hug going a little while longer before gradually letting his arms fall away.
“Besides, you’ll have to stay a while if you’re to hear about some of the crazy stuff that’s happened. We’ve got quite a bit of catch-up to do.” He grinned, tone light. Even if some of what had happened hadn’t been at all nice to deal with at the time, he can’t say there weren’t some things he’d be excited to share. “I bet even you will start wondering how much I might be making up.”

(Freakin’…. I would have been fine not realising we didn’t get this in either version of the Teleportation heist. Because Now I want to see Kid grinning like that while falling backwards off a building in the anime too… And no, that one scene from Movie 8 when he gets out of the plane doesn’t count.)
(This was the closest his face got to the manga scene from the DC anime. The want is strong…)

(By the second time we see him, I’m pretty sure most people know he’s not evil. I know he has his times in the anime as well, but jeez. That last one there was just a generic shadow man in that case. …Actually *goes back at this point to add the anime equivalents* Though substituting for that last one with an equivalent, even if the manga part for the mansion didn’t show his outfit. …And yes, yes I am actually doing manga icons. And will probably put them up for others since I won’t actually use them.)
