(Sorry for the small bit of spamming on Kaito. Well, ‘small’ in comparison to the number of drafts. Still not as many as I’d like to have done, but technically, if I take out people to appear to be on hiatus, memes, just hoarded responses that may never be answered… It might  actually be half as much as it looks. Maybe. …In the 60s. So if I have multiple threads, I’m only gonna focus 1-3 per person for now, unless Kai’s showing favouritism and more active for me for certain people…

Feel free to send stuff and make more, just very likely they’ll fall to drafts after a while. And Spider’s been more active, so some time is being taken from Kai, but he’s being pretty nice about it.)

(And for a random information time, one of the reasons I picked Kyoko for my FC, aside from loving Skip Beat to death and collecting volumes for it just as much as DC, is because…

(Nice, helpful, usually friendly, doesn’t mind cuddles in the slightest)

(Can get annoyed easily, prefers having something to focus on, not the most social of people (doesn’t apply to Kyoko, this one, just how she can look sometimes and my connection to Spider). Even my manager said I should be a spy for how quiet and unnoticeable I am usually. And a few do still call be a ninja assassin because I can walk right behind people while they’re distracted and they won’t notice.)

(Just wanted to compare, but then it made me rant-y, so feel free to ignore the rest.)

(And not gonna put up with people who don’t hold any regard for me in the slightest. I’m nice enough to not bother most people, But that doesn’t mean I won’t start being rude if you start getting on my nerves and stepping on my toes. Customers in retail is one things, I expect many of them to not give a damn about the workers fixing whatever mess is left behind everywhere, but I loathe the person I frequently have to work with. She’s constantly complaining, always, about work, about when I work the area she’s normally in when she’s moved elsewhere for the night, about not having the same days off as me because that means she won’t get help in her area… And she’s constantly saying I’m weird and not normal because of how I think and what I like. Yes. Okay. I get it. I wouldn’t mind being called weird, if she didn’t say something about it pretty much every time I see her. I don’t like purely romantic movies, so what? No, I haven’t seen Titanic, and you saying I should see all these sorts of things I’m clearly not interested in, and then talking down about what I do like isn’t making want to see them anymore than I already did. She also kept complaining about her boyfriend(?) and drama to the point where I actually said ‘that’s interesting and all, but I really don’t care’. And to clarify, she did also keep asking me for my opinion, which is why I said that. I don’t mind listening to personal issues once in a while, but, again. Every. Single. Day. And then she mentioned that I should know at least what some of her trouble was like and it came to me mentioning I was asexual and no, I really didn’t. I don’t get caught up in drama.

And more getting called weird, the ‘you just haven’t found the right person’ BS, and when I got fed up one day and said I was no longer going to discuss it with her, she said, after I’d turned my back, ‘you’ll see one day’. By that point, I seriously wanted to slap her in the face. And she didn’t drop it, and said I should date another co-worker that I got along with. And I plainly said no, I already said I’m not interested, and she completely ignored me. Yet somehow, she thinks we’re friends. No. No we’re not. You do your work, I’ll do mine, if I have to help you, fine, but no talking about anything with me. I really think she’s just dense, but I’m very clear with what I say, and I have thrown logic at her that even she understands, so I don’t even know.

Sorry for that sudden explosion, but that’s been building up a while, and apparently the comparing between my muses and making this post set it off for some reason. Everyone else I’ve known is pretty open and accepting, and wouldn’t care, so I really had forgotten that close-minded idiots do still exist until I spent too much time with one…)

“Why did you do that?”

He didn’t answer right away as he looked back to see if the man who had shot at her had followed them. A sigh of relief escaped the thief upon seeing no one and he hugged her tightly, a soft smile on his lips. Why the man had tried to shoot her, he didn’t know.

He didn’t really care to know.

He was just happy the bullet hadn’t hit her.

Kid realised that she probably wouldn’t want any blood getting on her, so he pulled back, though he kept his hands on her shoulders. Red was starting to become evident on his white suit, coming his side. Thankfully it hadn’t hit anywhere more troubling, but he would still need to get it looked to soon…

“Is it so strange to protect someone you care about, Aoko-ojou?”

image

“Alright..I’m believing you..” was all she said before leaving the thief alone. Some minutes later she got back with a first aid kit. “Kid..I’m back… Please undo your jacket and shirt…I want to take care of your wound now..”

The thief watched her go, the smile falling from his face when she was no longer in sight. He went over and slid down a wall nearby, grimacing slightly as the injury protested against the movement. He was close enough that she could easily find him when she came back, but hopefully out of the way enough other people wouldn’t really notice..

When Aoko did return, he looked up, a grateful smile coming up again. Kid did have to pause before nodding and letting his hands move to start doing as she requested. It… felt more than a little odd to expose any part of himself while like this, but this would be necessary…

Getting the clothes open didn’t take too long, and he carefully pulled the fabric off and away from the injury, pushing it off to the side for her to get to.

The door clicked open and the muscles in her arms became rigid, face turning a darker shade of red than it had before. Her eyes remained glued to the floor to her left, but the urge to peek was embarrassingly strong.

                                       Don’t look. Don’t look.

It was only human instinct to want to look, right? The fact that she refused to made her strong. Yeah. Let’s go with that.

Once he took the clothes from her and shut the door, the woman finally relax. Her arms fell to her sides, back meeting with the opposite side of the door. The heels of her palms moved to rub at her eyes, head giving a little shake in hopes that the image would be flung somewhere so deep in her mind that she would have no choice but to forget.

”Y—Yeah, I did. I got it.” She exhaled slowly, “M’really sorry. I didn’t know ya’d come out. I was just gonna get it an’ go.”

image

“It’s not your fault. Even if I didn’t expect anyone to be here, I still should have remembered to bring the clothes with me…”

Should, could, would have… Though it’s mostly just the embarrassment talking. Of course he wouldn’t have given the mistake too much thought, had it not been for being unexpectedly seen… Having the house to oneself doesn’t exactly help to build too much caution for that sort of thing…

Right now, though, there wasn’t anything to be one about what happened, but Kaito’s fully aware of how awkward stepping out would be now. Not to mention the fact his face might just burn off if he did.

“It’s good that you found it.” A small laugh could be heard from behind the door. “Maybe you should check everything else you have while you’re here, just in case.”

Madison refused to let Kaito down, so seeing the grin on his face when she agreed to help made one of her own form. She gave her head a shake and reached forward to pat the back of his head, “Nah, yer not leavin’ me behind that easily, not after ya got me all excited about it.”

The woman bounced in her seat once, then pulled the chair forward so she could easily contain the need to squirm.

”Date? Oh, right! Gotta figure out when t’ do it. Th’ sooner, th’ better. Right? How about this weekend? But…”

image

Taking Kaito’s chin between her fingers, she turned his head a little. “Can ya really pull off bein’ a thief? Ya got such a sweet face. Not that I’d be any better.”

This weekend? Hmm… Suppose that sounded alright. Normally this sort of thing would need preliminary work and such, but this wasn’t a normal heist. Well, not really a heist at all, so much as an excuse as to why Kid got the note, so he doesn’t really need to worry about getting too much set up, especially with the one he’s ‘stealing’ from helping in a way…

The magician blinked when Madison reached out, a faint flush rising as she examined his face.

“Ah.. Well, it’s not like I have to use my actual face. I do know how to pull off a few disguises.“

Kaito leaned back slightly, pulling away from the other as he smiled and put a hand over his mouth, pulling it down with a wider, teasing grin to reveal a very obvious, drawn-on pencil moustache.

“Maybe something like this and one of those pointy goatees would make me look mean enough to be a thief?”

“here kitty kitty!”

Kaito probably should have been expecting the knock, since he hadn’t gone to school that day after he’d looked at himself in the mirror that morning. Nope. Not going to mess with that.

But when he heard someone at the door, he hesitated a moment before sighing and pulling the hood of his jacket over his head to cover the ears.

image

…Hmm… I called the school to tell them I was sick… So… More than likely…

The magician looked through the peephole, and, yep, it was Aoko. Of course she would come over… Another sigh and he put on a small smile before opening the door some.

“Ah… Hi, Aoko…”

image

“Hey, Kaito.. How are you doing? I heard that you’re sick.”, she with worry in her voice.

Someone could easily tell, that she wasn’t happy at all. After all, it didn’t happen often, that Kaito was sick. So it was kind of a surprise for her when she heard of him not coming to school because of sickness.

A flash of guilt rose up at the concern in her voice. It… wasn’t a complete lie. Sudden unexplained extra parts didn’t exactly fall in with how he normally was, even if they couldn’t be classified as an illness… But it still didn’t feel right to make her worry over something that wasn’t entirely true either…

“Well, I’m doing better than I was when I woke up… It was just something that came all of the sudden and I didn’t think I’d be able to sit through school with it. Nothing contagious, though, just needs care until it goes away. It nothing to worry much about.“

Ohhhh wow, ohhhh gosh. First the hand kiss then the arm snaking around then the ojou-san—- this guy is dangerous! But she can’t exactly escape anymore; only one thing left to do!

Wrap her own arm around his side and try not to let him see how red her face is by burying it in his chest. Yes. Excellent plan.

The thief chuckled and moved his arms slightly to get more comfortable, lightly keeping them around the other. Despite the flirting, he was only planning to stick to what he said he’d do, which in this case was offer a hug.

Wouldn’t stop him from teasing a little, though.

“Are you alright, ojou-san?~”

Not quite as cocky as it usually was, but still a confident, small smile on his face as he approached, slowly reaching out to gently place a hand on her arm, lightly rubbing with his thumb. Then, he continued getting closer until he could shift his position to lean against her from the side, sliding the arm around her shoulder and pulling her in a bit, moving his hand up and down the upper arm slightly in a slow, even rhythm.

She hadn’t expected to burst into tears and especially not in front of the thief. Still, she couldn’t have helped it and felt embarrassed. However, the embarrassment turned to deep sighing once he began to try to calm her down. Sobs had wracked her frame, causing her to feel weaker than she actually was or at least than she would like to appear. Keeping the silence between them, she looked into his eyes, her own blurry with tears.

Kid’s eyes softened a touch when she looked at him before his free hand came up to gently brush some of the wetness off of her face, staying close and offering as much comfort as he could afford to give. No wariness right now. He didn’t feel that there should be any when she clearly needed someone.

“Whisper~”

The teasing banter was one of the things that Hakuba loved most about the heists… especially when they managed to get up close and personal with it. Such a situation, like the one they were in now, was perfect for it. He had KID ‘cornered’ on the the rooftop, police surrounding the ground below, many more trying to scramble up the several flights of stairs in the building, but for the moment, they were alone. He’d delivered a particularly biting comment, one literally about biting the thief, with a sly smile and an arch of his brow, and had laughed when he’d gotten a comment about being wilder than expected in return. To this, Hakuba simply moved closer, gaze predatory as he leaned in to whisper his response.

“Oh, its just beginning.”

Kid instinctively leaned back, keeping an eye on the detective’s hands for any glint of metal as the other drew nearer, his own fingers loosely wrapped around the button for his glider in a pocket. Honestly, he’d thought the ‘biting’ comment had been a joke, but the look in Hakuba’s eyes began to make him wonder.

The comment didn’t help with that thinking either.

The white thief simply gave a small tilt of his head and hummed, however, his own teasing voice lowering to match the other teen’s.

“Oh? If that’s how it begins, I can’t help but wonder how it would end.”

“Really? Tha’ would be so nice of ya!”, she said with a bright smile.

Kazuha already thought, that she would be doomed to run around in Tokyo forever. She took his hands in hers and shook them in a thankful manner.

“Thank ya so much fer helpin’ ma! Th’ name of th’ shop Paradise.”

Kaito gave a small smile when she took his hands in gratitude. Yeah… probably a bit too nice, really, but it never seemed to hurt much. Still, the sooner he can get her set, the better, so he pulled away from her to get out his phone to see if he could find the address of the store online.

“Paradise, huh? Can’t say I’ve heard of it myself, but I guess that’s not too much of a surprise if it’s new…” That and it probably wouldn’t be a store the magician would take note of anyway. Not that he hasn’t gone into shops more meant for women, but he doesn’t keep tabs on them or anything. A few clicks on the buttons, some waiting for a page to come up and… Oh. He does know the street it’s on at least… but…. Hm.

“Well, good news is, it shouldn’t be hard to find. It’s about twenty minutes from here on foot.”

The Azran Crystal Heist || @moonlightmajutsushi

flora-reinhold-cosplay:

Layton chuckled, coming into the room and sitting next to Flora.

“This, my dear… is an Azran artefact, and quite an important one as well.” He sighed, remembering his exhausting journey. “The ruins were simply astonishing- they were so vast and… labyrinthine that it took days to find the center chamber. And this…”

A small shuffling was heard as the Professor picked up the weighted object off the table.

"…is what I was looking for. The Azran Crystal. It’s made out of a pure stone that no geologist could identify once I was out from the ruins and had returned to the main dig site. Many claimed it to be sapphire, turquoise, or even a rare type of mineral, but I believe it’s something entirely different.”

His face was solemn as he stared at the smooth, rounded crystal egg.

“…And it must be important for something… I searched the center chamber, but I couldn’t find any traces of human activity that could reveal what it would be used for… perhaps, my dear, it’s only a treasure, but I believe that this stone hides a puzzle that is ripe for solving.”

Flora sat in awed silence, staring at the Professor as his expression remained serious. She knew that look very well- it was the look he got when he was solving a mystery.

A loud whistling interrupted the brief silence. Layton shook his head, rising from the sofa.

"Ah, there’s the teapot. I’ll be right back, my dear… the usual for you, I assume?” he asked, heading to the kitchen.

image

“Oh- uh, yes, please.”

Two sugars, one dash of milk. No more and no less, and the Professor got it right every time…

Kaito listened attentively to the professor, leaning back against the wall as he pressed the receiver further to hear, thoughts starting to race. If it really took so long and other has had such difficulty getting to the stone, there couldn’t be much doubt that it had been important to the people who hid it. And a good chance no one had ever checked it against moonlight for anything to be noticed, since the jewel itself already didn’t have any information on it aside from whatever the man who currently had it in his possession might have gathered. Though, the mention of pure stone made a slight frown appear.

That’s something he’s never really given much thought to, actually. Pandora is supposed to be a gem hidden within another, and it’s not strange to think it might not be able to be seen or anything. If it matches the color of what it’s in normally, or is transparent until moonlight hits it… But would it really not be noticed if it were analysed…

The whistling of the teapot startled him and brought him back from his thoughts.

…Either way, he should check. Considering Pandora’s legend involves immortality, he really shouldn’t try applying too much logic on it. Even the professor appeared to think it might be important, so it would be worth looking at, at least. If it somehow did contain the jewel, then this couldn’t be overlooked. Might feel a little bad if it turned out he’d need to take what Layton worked so hard to obtain, but it’s not as though he hasn’t put a lot in his own search a well. Besides, the chance was more likely in the stone just being some treasured artefact that had nothing to do with the immortal gem.

Kaito looked up when he heard voices coming near, turning to start walking casually and look up at the building. Staying here had been convenient while more people had been around after following the professor, but staying in one place like this for too long would be suspicious, especially as a Japanese in England when Kaitou Kid would appear soon. He could listen in elsewhere, so long as he didn’t stray too far out of the bug’s range.

And much as he might wish it were the case, not all information could be gathered in a few hours.
