flyawaythief:

“Thanks…” Totally not awake. Just stares down at the pancakes. Puts down the toast and replaces it with a pancake. Pancake is now limply dangling out of his mouth.

…Well then. Pretty sure no good pancake will actually be able to last long like that…

“You’re welcome… though, I think someone might need some coffee as well…”

((Would he be Suzaku because he’s like a bird and can’t be caught? Why would he be like Byakko?))

(Well, that and Suzaku also tends to be represented by a phoenix, due to it’s association with fire. I’d say Kid certainly rose from the ashes…

As for why Byakko, well, the colour white, first and foremost. I like the association with metal more than fire, for someone like Kaito, and I also like the season of fall for him over summer. Byakko also more closely represents justice, or at least, fighting to protect, while I picture Suzaku as more the impartial and knowledge seeking type. Neither fit perfectly, but arguments could be made for both. Honestly, I was going with Suzaku between that and Genbu, but I personally think he does fall in a line somewhere between Suzaku and Byakko. Of course, if you were matching up people like the Gosho Boys or such, Kaito would probably be pushed back to Suzaku while Heiji get’s Byakko, and he’d suit it better, but Kaito is far from strictly Suzaku. (And then I put Shinichi as Genbu and Hakuba as Seiryu.))

How about a weasel????

(I mentioned a weasel in with ermine and ferret. ^^; It works a lot better, though. Again, it’s more my associations as to why I don’t put it with Kaito myself. If I had to say why… well, without giving an example, they don’t feel as innocent? Not to say weasels are evil, or that Kaito is pure in many ways, but… Hmm. Even just trying to think of it, I associate weasel more with Spider than Kaito. Something about it doesn’t click completely with me.)

((Do you think the vermillion bird or the black tortoise would suit a thief better? Black tortoise who disguises as evil to take evil down?))

(…Well, if you just mean a thief in general, then yeah, the Black Tortoise would probably fit better. But it’s not like that’s the best question to ask, since you could literally have any of the four beasts represent a thief. Kid himself would probably be Suzaku more, or even arguably Byakko. So… I depends on the type of person, really. Occupation doesn’t entirely matter.)

Squirrel also works for him. Maybe even ermine or sugar glider.

(Hmm… Sugar glider, yes. Ermine or a ferret or weasel of some sort… possibly. Not too big on the squirrel, actually, but that’s really just me personally. It might work for Kaito, considering all the times I’ve seen them try stealing food from the bird feeders at my grandparent’s house. And more than one instance of jumping from a freakin’ tree to get past the barrier they put on the pole. But they all seem to be more high energy animals, which I actually don’t normally associate with Kaito. Playful animals I do, but Kaito really isn’t as active unless he’s got an audience. He’s really fairly quiet most of the time, just friendly.

(And I know these animals aren’t hyper all the time, and sugar gliders not really at all, but the general reputations of the other two precede them. Hence my ordering of likelihood going in backwards listed order from what you gave.))

((I said I had the one for the DS. So the blue one? There was a blue one, right? But I might get one of the other ones later. If I see ‘em for cheap enough. *shrugs* Because they’re fun.

Okay. I’ll try and see if I can get it while it’s on the ground sometime then. Thanks. The other two trials weren’t that bad. But just… ugh. Doesn’t help that electric type  moves aren’t very effective against it. So there’s nothing I can do to weaken the thing.

And that sound really annoying. Now I’m wishing I had checked to see how far my little brother got in the game before he gave it to me, but I deleted the save file pretty quickly.

Thanks for the advice though. ^^))

(Ah, yeah, Blue Rescue Team. ^^; I’m the one who had Red, since it was before I had a DS at the time.

…Actually, yeah, that might be why the trials always stand out. You can never take any of the other Pokemon to help with them… And Poke assists are godsends with most captures. In the later game, you could have more than one than one type of partner. Had to be switched out if you wanted to change between them, but dear lord was that useful. And the third game, you could just summon certain Pokemon as captured ones, after certain points. And not the legends, though they’re fun in their own way. Actual Pokemon automatically added to your party if you had the space and remembered the symbol. That was awesome.)

shadowchildkaito:

((You’re making me want to play the Mystery Dungeon game I had, but it was in the old Game Boy case that I lost track of over a year ago. I don’t even remember which one it was by name, just that it was one of the first two and was the one for the DS. Pretty sure… I can’t even remember which Pokemon I was. Oz.

And I’m stuck in the trial thing. I’ve done two of them, but the stupid destruction Pokemon keeps getting away from me. Can’t even remember which Pokemon it is. Switched to playing Animal Crossing on Easter and apparently I can’t remember that far back. XD But like, I swear I’ve gotten the right number of circles at least twice and then couldn’t get my stylus off the screen fast enough. And my stylus flew the other day and I’m not trying it with my finger.

And I cannot use the Force to find it. So stop saying that. If I could use the Force, more of those golf balls would have gone in the hole growing up.

It’s a blue lightsaber one the owner of a game store gave me when I told him the one that came with the 3DS I got there broke.

And I’ve gone totally off-topic. Can you tell I only really just woke up?

But yeah. I don’t think I’ve played any of the spin-offs besides the ones I’ve mentioned so far.

… Apparently I can remember the flow of the battle better than the Pokemon’s name. Welp. Try to get it while it’s flying. Don’t touch the screen when it lands and sends out two bursts of three shockwaves. Quickly draw one circle around it while it’s on the ground so you don’t get blasted by the beam it shoots out. Try again until I mess up enough that the capture thing breaks… Or get tired of trying and give up and let the capture thing break. I know the Pokemon’s blue though. But names. Meh.

Sometimes I’d give up because my wrist got too sore to continue.

I like the game, but this Pokemon is making me want to throw it in frustration.))

(XD *casts hypnosis to make everyone play the Mystery Dungeon games~* And the one you had was Red Rescue Team, the only one for the GBA. I had that one as well, but the second gen ones are a lot bigger and more to explore, Pokemon to recruit and such. And it has an after-the-main-story story. Basically two arcs in the game, which was fun. No personal home, though…

And the Ranger Pokemon is Salamence. …And yeah, he was annoying, too… Charizard is the fourth trial in that game, but yeah. Just got to get timing and luck to capture some at points. And you can keep your stylus down while it’s using Hyper Beam, so long as the line isn’t in danger of being hit, so it’d keep whatever circles you made. But yeah, a lot from the first game especially were difficult… I do think the trials held the more irritating ones, though. At least, they stood out to me more as being… Oh, nope, wait, just remembered my most hated one.

…If you do go back and get further, just to say. Steelix is the worst to deal with… Just touching it will damage the styler. And it’s freakin’ long and hard to even get circled without part of it being off-screen. Get a fighting type, it’ll make life much easier… Still hate the thing, though… Argh… The memories are coming back…)

“Didn’t Doyle hate Sherlock Holmes, pretty much? Or at least hate that he got so popular? And if I heard correctly, he intended Sherlock to stay dead, but to many fans pushed him to bring him back… I wouldn’t be surprised if those stories aren’t the absolute best…”
