Any advice for someone who wants to create a Kaito Kid RP blog?

(Not sure I’m the best for advice, and I think kuroba-k gave a good answer to your question, but I guess I don’t mind offering my own input.~ Not as nice and neat and to the point, though…)

(First thing for any RP blog would be know the rules and basic manners of rp, such as no godmodding, coming into something like a relationship is already in place, etc. Might not be relevant to you specifically, but have to get that out of the way to start just in case.

Second: Know your character. Those might just be my thoughts on him, and you don’t have to go into near as much detail, but at least have read the manga. You don’t have to know every single little detail, but knowing how he’d react to most situations, even ones he might not be used to, help. Every interpretation of him is slightly different as well, depending on how you view why he does certain things, so to get the best idea for your Kaito… well, just ask questions, really. And answer them. Make headcanons. What do you consider the title of Kid to be to him? He was clearly attached to his father, but how much did Toichi being gone really affect him? Do you think his normal personality as Kaito is real, or another act? Is what you want him to do more along the lines of the somewhat more believable recent MK, or back to the slightly more insane comedy manga chapters, where anything can happen and magic might run rampant? Is he lonely, how much attention does he need? Has he matured at all, or is he still the jerk who peeks in the girls locker rooms? Does he really follow guides to make sure no one gets hurt, or does he just not get violent in general? There are numerous possibilities that could change from Kaito to Kaito, which is why there are so many. He’s a complex character, not difficult to play, but has so many different ways of looking at him that there isn’t actually any set way.

I do think kuroba-k made good points on him as a character and how to treat him in general, so I’ll leave theirs for that, but I do want to say one thing. Kaito is fairly social, but can also retreat, fall back and be quiet when he needs to. He’s a character that’s fairly open to interaction in comparison to others, so really, things like knowing where he’d be, what he might be doing, is he shopping or staking out for a heist or coming home from school really go far in rping him.

Of course, I just knew the manga and had the character in my head when I made this blog, without much else going for me, so I can also say that, even if you don’t have the clearest idea, if you know the character, they’ll grow. You get the most solid grasp when they start interacting with others, so just… I lost the point I was trying to make there, but really, don’t feel like it’s hard, I guess. ^^; )

“Thank you,” he whines, still keeping his head down. “This is bullshit. I wasn’t even given a time when this hex would wear off. What if it’s like this forever? I hate those grey magic casters. They’ve never done anything good to me.”

Kaito just sorta arches his back. Mm. That feels nice.

“It can’t last forever. And if it starts going on too long, then I might have to see about having one cast another to set it right. Even if they can be bad, you can’t say they aren’t convenient in accessibility~”

Going to keep the back scratching going, moving up from around the shoulders to just above the hips. After a thought, he might shift a bit so he can use both hands.

flyawaythief:

Just lying there. Not even gonna look up. This world is horrible.

At least it’s easier to hide his parts in the costume. The top hat is certainly nicer on ears than a baseball cap or something, anyway. It does have to suck to have the usual phobia changed to cats, though… A lot harder to avoid that one, even without the run of magic going around.

But he’s just going to run his fingers up and down his other self’s back in a light scratching to help comfort.

❖!

The magician did have to be careful coming to his other self, considering people more than likely wouldn’t buy the idea that he wasn’t the Kaitou Kid they were looking for… Not to mention just finding himself took far longer than he would have liked.

When he did find him, though, a grin spread across his face and he quietly stepped forward. And when he got close enough, Kaito put his arms around his doppelganger’s shoulders, humming as he gave a quick peck on the cheek.

“Yo~ Doing okay?”

“Thank you.” He could hardly lie to himself. The mask came down when other Kaitos were around. He idly chuckled at the rhyme as he jammed his hands into pockets.

“Decided I can’t just run around all the time. I’m going to be staying at an assistant’s apartment now. Planning my return. I was the only thing between those goons and Pandora and I’m not going to run away from them.” A grin of purpose. A Kid grin.

No, this isn’t Kaito.
It’s Kaitou.

Not a bad thing, but a little concerning if one knew why.

Kaito listened to his counterpart, flashing a small smile before it fell in contemplation. Really, he couldn’t say much on returning to heisting himself. Because he might have done it before now, if it were him, so he’s not in the least surprised. It didn’t matter which world, Pandora needed to be found, so the mantle of Kid couldn’t be dropped easily… However…

The magician paused before turning his head up to the sky, letting his own hands clasp behind his back.

“Hmmm… Will you be going straight back into how things normally went? Or will you be trying something new?”

When the thief saw her ‘casually’ looking around, he couldn’t help but give a small sigh before a faint smile came to his face. Really… he’d told her that he’d be sure to stop by her house after the heists, she didn’t have to come…

After letting her turn her head a minute or so more, he slowly shook his head and walked up from behind, quickly turning to give a light kiss on the cheek before smiling.

“Come to deliver a certain keibu’s bento again, Aoko-ojou?~”

Her eyes widened in surprise as he suddenly kissed her on the cheek. Thanks to that, her cheeks turned red, like they often did when he was around.

“K-Kaito?”, she stuttered in a questioning way.

She wouldn’t really have expected him to find her that fast. Actually, she was planning on finding him first. But it was already too late for that. “W-well, yes. But I actually wanted to ask him something really important.”, she explained in a hurry.

“Something important? Well, last I saw he was in the room with the jewel, checking over some things…” Kaito said as he turned to glance over in the direction of where tonight’s target was being kept.
