The magician did have to be careful coming to his other self, considering people more than likely wouldn’t buy the idea that he wasn’t the Kaitou Kid they were looking for… Not to mention just finding himself took far longer than he would have liked.
When he did find him, though, a grin spread across his face and he quietly stepped forward. And when he got close enough, Kaito put his arms around his doppelganger’s shoulders, humming as he gave a quick peck on the cheek.
“Yo~ Doing okay?”
He was distracted, but really, Kaito was rarely focused on one thing for too long these days. Slipping behind alleyways and trudging back to Ed’s put him in a contemplative mood, so when he saw someone coming in the opposite direction, Kaito didn’t give it much thought.
But that grin. Oh, that smile was unmistakeable. The fugitive felt one bloom on his own face as he was hugged and kissed on the cheek. It had been so long since hugs… Ed was doing her best to make up for it too.
“Things are starting to look up,” was his somewhat-tired reply.
“Well, that’s good, at least…”
The magician gave a small hum and stayed there a short while longer before letting his arms slide off his other self. He might not have the same problems in his own universe, but it wasn’t too hard to imagine what his double might be going through… Frighteningly easy to think of, actually, much as he’s wondered what might happen if he got caught…
And, well, imagination alone was enough to let him worry.
“Did something happen recently?” Kaito asked, turning to fall in beside the other as he gently bumped shoulders.
Amidst the chaos of the police officers piling on top of where the jewel had been, the thief calmly snuck out of the room and into the next, mildly surprised to see the other there. …Not as much as he could have been. Really, it’s not often Nakamori-keibu used his more normal tactic of trying to catch him off guard and overwhelm with numbers, and having her stay out of that mess probably had been wise of Mouri-san.
“I hope it wasn’t too boring for you to have waited here, ojou-san,” Kid commented, watching her and giving a friendly smile as he came near and carefully took hold of her fingers, leaning down slightly to brush his lips against them before straightening.
“It almost feel a bit odd to get a more routine heist in this area for once. Apologies for not having anything quite as noticeable planned for tonight’s show.”
The thief didn’t turn immediately upon hearing the door to the rooftop open, instead appearing to not notice the sudden company as he observed the jewel he twirled in his fingers. He didn’t allow her too much time, though, casually looking back before turning and walking towards her.
“Not often I see you up here, tantei-chan~“
A small wave of his hand as he got closer and the gem disappeared, allowing him to gently take up her own hand and bring her fingers to his lips.
“Though it’s always a pleasure to see you visit my shows~”
The magician did have to be careful coming to his other self, considering people more than likely wouldn’t buy the idea that he wasn’t the Kaitou Kid they were looking for… Not to mention just finding himself took far longer than he would have liked.
When he did find him, though, a grin spread across his face and he quietly stepped forward. And when he got close enough, Kaito put his arms around his doppelganger’s shoulders, humming as he gave a quick peck on the cheek.
“Now, now, tantei-kun… I hope you weren’t thinking you had the advantage by chasing me into a room without a window…”
If said room looks empty… well, it shouldn’t come as a surprise. And in fact, the voice sounds like it’s coming from…
Kid grins as he drops down from his place just above the door, giving the detective a quick kiss to the cheek before a swish of the cape and all that remains is smoke.
Well, if the tally has been kept correctly, it should be his ‘turn’ in their little game of ‘tag’… And, given his other self’s current status, returning it might even come as a surprise.
…He’d just need to not look down too far.
Fine by Kid, the head was the focus anyway. A quick check to make sure no one stood in the line that from where he lurked leading to the fountain, and then he grinned, rolling a smoke bomb and dashing as soon as it went off. He gave it just enough time to clear enough to make out his target and moved down to lightly steal his double’s lips before pulling back with an even wider grin.
When the thief saw her ‘casually’ looking around, he couldn’t help but give a small sigh before a faint smile came to his face. Really… he’d told her that he’d be sure to stop by her house after the heists, she didn’t have to come…
After letting her turn her head a minute or so more, he slowly shook his head and walked up from behind, quickly turning to give a light kiss on the cheek before smiling.
“Come to deliver a certain keibu’s bento again, Aoko-ojou?~”
