Tbh I have always assumed that if DC and MK exist in the same universe then that means magic/supernatural stuff exists in DC it’s just not relevant to the plot and Conan and other logic-driven characters just don’t know about it and don’t think it exists. I mean in a way MK and Akako existing in the same ‘verse helps explain some things – Kazuha charms actually seeming to have protective power on some level and Heiji’s premonitions. They are both magical but don’t know it makes sense.

I feel like they could exist in the same universe, if magic is kept lowkey, but word of Gosho is apparently that the world in Magic Kaito and the one for Detective Conan are supposed to be parallel worlds, and that the Kid you see in DC technically isn’t the one from MK.

…Which I find most of what Gosho says during Q&As to be full of a ton of BS, so it’s still technically up for interpretation. He can’t actually keep his stories straight and I feel like he just makes things up when he needs a safe response. Kid is still clearly looking for something specific, and while it might not be an immortality granting stone, there’s… zero indication of what else it might be.

Magic in the DC universe would explain more than just the charms and premonitions, though. Haibara’s ‘BO sense’ is too convenient to brush off as normal, Conan has a similar ‘Kid sense’, and then there’s an apparent telepathic connection characters have that lets them know when something’s wrong with someone they care about. (See: Shinichi and Ran in general, Shinichi and Heiji like when Heiji was shoved off a ship into the ocean. It happens in canon, but the movies especially are bad about it.)

Not to mention that Gosho had a literal psychic tell Conan a big secret would be found out during the Holmes Freak murder case, and sure enough Heiji learned the truth.

Early DC did have a more fun, silly feel that a lot of older Gosho works had, even if it was in a more serious genre. A lot of the instances of things that can’t be explained have died down as the series goes on, which could be why there’s more of a push for a separation of magic from the logic. But people aren’t actually capable of separating the two in their mind, they just want to get rid of all the magic entirely, which is what annoys me. No hate on Magic Kaito for having magic. The MK fans don’t go hating on Detective Conan for not showing magic, they know Akako would probably break the DC world, so it’s just. Disheartening. When the opinion comes up that MK is at fault and ruining the DC experience because of the possibility of magic comes up.

Besides, the whole ‘took something that was supposed to be a poison but it changed me into a kid’ idea borders on the disbelieving side anyway, and yet it’s accepted without much fuss. Yes, it has some form of explanation later, but you had to have already invested time into accepting it without putting the series aside by the time you get that explanation. Magic shouldn’t be an experience killer compared to the very first time you read the series.

So you’re talking get about pranking Nakamorikeibu too?

“Well, the detectives are usually with the police. Unless they come after us alone, but if anything happens in a group, involving Kid(s)? The task force is going to be brought in. So it’s not like we’d be picking him out, but he might get caught up in it all, yes.”

Not that he’s showing any remorse about it…

-drops a fish into inbox-

Some passerby might possibly wonder why the mailbox is on fire. Slightly smarter people would brush it off knowing a mischievous magician lives in the house of said mailbox, and might cause any sort of problem at random (usually pyrotechnic related). And then there’s said magician planning on a different way of receiving mail, that wouldn’t allow unwanted things to get through, and being thankful internal screaming can only be heard by telepaths.

1, hmmm have you seen Undertale?

…Well, Now that I’ve not only seen but played it… (Pacifist, since that was clearly what the game leaned you towards, and haven’t done anything post happy ending yet.)

001 | Send me a fandom and I will tell you my:

  • Favorite character: Toriel Sans wins now
  • Least Favorite character: Eh… Hard to think of one offhand, really. Flowey might come to mind for most, but after the end, that’s a little hard to jump to… Might go with him just for lack of anyone else falling into dislike, though. So probably Chara.
  • 5 Favorite ships (canon or non-canon):
  • Character I find most attractive: …*shrugs* Mettaton EX, I suppose
  • Character I would marry: None, really.
  • Character I would be best friends with: Let’s get anime on with Alphys.
  • A random thought: Pretty sure it’s been said more than once, but I do like that it’s a game that plays with what you’d expect from games, even down to making you feel bad if you do around killing monsters.
  • An unpopular opinion: Is not outright hating Flowey unpopular? I don’t think I have many that might be otherwise and I’m not in the actual fandom enough to know opinions.
  • My canon OTP: With most people on UndynexAlphys
  • Non-canon OTP: Don’t know… It’s not the sort of game where I consider OTPs to be honest. *random throws TemmiexAnnoyingDog*
  • Most badass character: Papyrus, clearly. (But no, Toriel, have you seen how she takes care of business? She would have fixed everything so much sooner.)
  • Pairing I am not a fan of: Frisk and anyone. Friendship’s all well and good, but for all that it had ‘dating’ portions, nothing actually serious.
  • Character I feel the writers screwed up (in one way or another): None (Edit: Wait! Gaster. Not that they screwed him up per se but come on, he has the potential to be an interesting addition to the game besides vague theories.)
  • Favourite friendship: Sans and Toriel
  • Character I want to adopt or be adopted by: I honestly think Undyne would be absolute fun to be adopted by.

Early (?) munday question! Do you have a life motto? If you do, tell us about it! if not, tell us about a quote or saying that struck you deeply!

(Yeah, just a bit early here. But never really had a life motto, gotta say. And while I have quotes I’ve liked, I can’t really say any have resonated in me or anything. If I had to say anything for either, it’d probably be something about having fun. In a lot of things, roleplaying, hobbies, work, if you don’t enjoy it, don’t do it, or else it’ll become harmful.

More an opinion than life motto though, since you do have to push through some things, but like the job I quit was stagnating and only getting worse and worse, so it went from something new to ‘okay, gotten used to it and now mostly neutral but it’s something to do’ to ‘I hate this, and it wants me to hate it more, and no’. Much as I like looking into how people get affected by things (especially psychologically, even though I’ve never actually taken or at this point will take an actual lesson on it), pretty aware that doing something you don’t enjoy in the slightest is a big drain and can be very harmful if it’s an activity that demands too much time. (More than can be recovered from doing what you do enjoy later.))

Next up. There was no smoke or flash to distract from her arrival, she was simply there. This one received a chocolate cake, covered in rainbow sprinkles. A smile and a wave, and then she was gone the same way she had come.

That… was weird. Even for some of the things he’s seen. …Kind of unnerving too, when he’s used to at least some sort of indication when ‘appearing and disappearing’.

A pause after the other vanished, and then he looked down.

…The cake did look nice, though… Question was whether to trust something that literally came out of nowhere… Hmm… Guess it wouldn’t hurt to check it first. And if something does happen, should probably call Jii or… no, not Aoko, if nothing happens she’d probably poke fun at him, at least Jii wouldn’t question caution.

“Thank… you?” …Since she left, probably wouldn’t be able to hear that…

M!A: Kidnapped: Muse is kidnapped and cannot interact with anyone until someone replies to their open para and saves them (Forever until saved)

“Wha-?”

Kaito barely had time to notice the arms coming around him, locking around his shoulders from behind. A split second of surprise passed before he started struggling, a cold feeling spreading through his body when one of the hands brought a damp cloth to his face, which he immediately tried jerking away from, pulling at the arm. Like hell he’d let himself be kidnapped, damn it the last time that had happened…

The arms held firm, though, and the teen hadn’t gotten the best breath to hold, lungs soon burning with the need to draw in the air he knew would put him out. His efforts weakened. Then finally, he drew in a desperate breath, earning a lungful of sweet scented air that killed any other attempts at trying to get out of the hold from sudden dizziness.

And even less time for the magician to go entirely slack in the stranger’s hold.

omg i mean no disrespect at all just a funny moment i feel like sharing, i dont have my glasses on and i saw your url and i read it as moonlightmajutsushit has anyone else confused it as this before omgg

( Oh jeez XD

I don’t know if anyone’s completely misread it, so haven’t heard of that one before, nope. Just have one person who likes pronouncing/remembering it as ‘magic sushi’ for the last part, much to Kaito’s dislike.)
