This was the second time someone has ended up on the other side of Jean’s bed, but this situation felt a little more strange.
“Congratulations on ending up here, you are the second one this week.” He said in a grouchy and sarcastic tone. “Now if you will excuse me, I shall be off to sleep on the sofa yet again.”
“I should hope so.” He grunted. “What are you escaping from?”
“Just some rather headstrong officers who don’t approve of my night job.”

The thief hopped onto the floor and turned to tip his hat at the man.
“I apologise for disturbing your sleep, but I shouldn’t be intruding for too long.”
