But that part didn’t matter to her. The part that mattered to her was the part she was trying to make sense of–

The whole idea of Pandora and this ‘denial’ he spoke of didn’t make much sense to her. None of it did.

She wasn’t sure if all alternates were exact alternates, so she didn’t say ‘Kaito’ in his place.

“So, just wondering… I obviously don’t really like Pandora either, so if I were to damage that one’s gem similarly, they’d both be after my head as well, correct? Because I find it funny I’m against the gem, but they don’t really want to do anything other than try to put me in the same state as them, unlike Aoko and my other other self.
Also, Pandora, you never answered my questions.”

He managed a half-hearted grunt that was probably meant to convey a sort of interest, but even that seemed like too much energy, and he was unable to repeat the sound.
But Kaito was curious, if a bit hesitant, to know what place his counterpart was talking about. A hand struggled to reach up before flopping back down to his side. Exhaustion had claimed much of that young vitality and sucked it into nothingness.
A building with blood on its floor, perhaps?
The thief paused again before continuing.
“You remember where that crazy scientist took you? On a cliff? The explosion took a lot out, but it’s not like it could get rid of everything, and the cliff itself wasn’t damaged. …Might feel a little like camping, but no one goes there…” He leaned into the other more to offer some reassurance. “And if you want company, I don’t mind staying a while. Just a suggestion anyway.”
