Of course, while Kaito liked Halloween, nothing would really come close to Christmas as his favourite holiday. Especially with Saguru staying with him right now~
So it was no surprise that he’d decorated with enthusiasm, and probably would have turned the place into a completely different world from how it was if he hadn’t been reminded that it might be just a bit much when they weren’t even going to be here for Christmas… Well, still the necessary basic holiday must haves. To him at least. Tree, wreath on the door, garland spread about, stockings… and of course mistletoe hung up in various places.
…Like above the sofa.
Actually, they moved around to keep things interesting, and, well… This was definitely interesting. Kaito did know where they were at all times, unless his detective decided to move them around himself, so when he saw the other there, he didn’t even really need to look up and see the plant there. But… hmm… this was the other Hakuba right now… hmm…
The magician gave a mental shrug and stood in front of the teen, smiling before leaning over and pressing his lips to the other’s without much warning.
Kaito murmured something unintelligible as he brought his arms in more. While it wasn’t really something he went out of his way to hide from his detective, he still liked planning what to do at heists while the other was away, so as to keep Saguru on his toes. Even if he wasn’t trying to arrest him.
…And with no one to drag off to bed for the moment, he may have stayed up a bit too late waiting himself, until he eventually just closed the laptop and laid his head down, just thinking to rest his eyes. And promptly dozed off instead. Not even hearing the other come in the house, much less his room.
“Ngh… Kiiiid…” The magician whined, frowning in his sleep, “Why’re y’ s’din’ w’th ‘im too…”
The thief had been awfully quiet for a while… Yep. He’d nodded off. Sitting and hugging his detective from behind, head on Hakuba’s shoulder, and he absently nuzzled the other’s neck.
“Th’nk… w’nt y’… ‘n my jew’lry b’x…” Came the soft words as the arms tightened some before they relaxed again.

Kaito blinked at the sudden face in front of him before smirking a bit and raising an eyebrow. He’d asked if Hakuba had wanted any while he was opening the box…
But whether he’d had this in mind when he said no, or he just decided he did want some then, the magician wasn’t about to complain, nor was he going to break the stick.
Trying to play a game, tantei?
Hakuba closed his eyes, because this still made him feel uncomfortable, eating food not made by him, but he wasn’t about to back out now. He’d rejected the one for himself, because he’d been told it was pocky day, and so, well, here he was. He moved a bit closer to get more in his mouth and opened his eyes, challenging the other.
…Well, this could only end well. Wasn’t as though he was afraid to play this with his detective. Chocolate, a challenge, and considering how this usually ended up…
Didn’t seem like it was possible to lose, really~
So Kaito didn’t waste much time biting his way down the stick. After all, a greater part of it was to get the most of the snack, and he wasn’t about to give up much of his chocolate, even to Hakuba.
Hakuba smiled and held him close. “It’s alright, I do know how you are feeling, it’s not something you can control so easily.” He closes his eyes. “But I do have a surprise for you.” He wanted to get the others attention off of the appendages and back on himself. “It’s very special and super secret, you’ll have to come back to my place with me to find out what it is.” he smirks a little and looks up at him. “Unless of course, your not curious.”
…Tantei. He was himself, and now he was even part cat. And he’d been tossed something vague and unknown, which is apparently something for him. From his detective.
Of course he’s going to be curious.
The still-trapped tail flicked around some and his ears slowly came forward as the thief tilted his head and looked quizzically at the other. Seems Hakuba’s idea had worked. Interest outweighed caution, though he couldn’t say the additions were completely disregarded. Just a bit of apathy setting in since he felt safer, not having to hide the change and being held. Was more comfortable now. Though he did have to wonder at why he had to go Hakuba’s house to find out what it is. He wasn’t normally invited anywhere, not even by Hakuba, while under Kid’s name…
“…Is it like any of the ‘surprises’ you’ve had for me before?”
“When have you ever known me to lie. I didn’t expect telling you I wasn’t taking a nap would cause you to loose your mind and chase me down and threaten to use your sleeping gas on me.” Hakuba humphed and shifted a little on top of the wall. “There are not enough hours in the day to do all that needs to be done, you should just be happy I sleep at all.” Hakuba turned, going to slip off the wall, on the other side, but his pant leg got caught. He gave it a tug, and started to slip backwards, eyes wide as he realized he was falling.
Kid opened his mouth to reply, but stopped when he saw that the detective moving back, a surge of fear going through him as the other started to drop. It might not have been all that high up, but falling backwards from any height was dangerous, if one was unlucky….
He quickly took the few steps forward needed to place himself under the other teen, arms out, though in the back of his mind, he knew he wasn’t in a good enough position to not fall back himself if he took Hakuba’s weight…
He held the other protectively, eyes focused on nothing but his own thoughts. Yes, he didn’t normally hurt people but…
“…I can be cruel if I have to…”
