It was rather odd, usually the other took every chance they could to touch him, and Hakuba was rather worried, but he chalked it up to the headache and kept his worries to himself. “Oh, and what kind of game would that be, my thief?” Hakuba tilted his head, but smiled, because that was more like KID. “Will I like this game, or is this another one of your games to irritate me.” he teased.
“Depends on whether you like poker or not, I suppose,” he said, fanning out a few cards in on hand and holding them up, a teasing grin playing across his face. “It’s been a while since I’ve actually played it with someone, so I thought it might be something fun we could do~”
Hakuba did notice something a little of, just the air around him seemed different but he shrugged it off and smiled, “Yes, let’s head home.”
The thief gave a small smile himself, nodding as he stepped over to pass by and walk ahead of his detective, rather than beside him. Didn’t kiss or lean against or touch Hakuba at all, though he moved casually and it was easy to tell he was still relaxed around the other. Just… acting a bit odd.
A hum left him as he went forward a ways before looking back at his detective.
“Maybe we should play a game when we get there as well… To help distract from the headache until it goes away?”
She’d get stuck at some point and be just a ‘head’ part of the cucumber. *has absolutely no problems with appendage eating, apparently* She wouldn’t be able to write, though, so she still needs to be stopped…
I’m a lazy kitty. But really, I don’t think I deserve such praise from you, Your Highness, Angst Queen Octopus. I greatly appreciate the compliment, though~)
Hakuba looked him over and saw the guilt but chose not to comment on it. “No. I’ll be fine. Thank you for walking me here.” He moved to step into the nurses office. “I appreciate it, Kuroba-san.” he murmured before finally stepping into the nurses office to get his head looked at, though he was sure he’d just need some ice, and possibly some pain killers – which would have to wait till he got home.
He’d already been turning away and about to say ‘you’re welcome’ after the detective spoke and made to go into the room, but he paused at the quieter words that followed, a small smile tugging at his lips.
“Anytime,” he responded, though probably too quietly for the other too hear, since he’d already gone in. Then he made his way back to class, grinning as he thought about what tricks he could pull off while Hakuba wasn’t going to be in the room to point out how they were done.
…While still paying enough attention to get the lesson, of course.
“I know people who find doing math problems enjoyable in their free time. Just because others don’t find it enjoyable, doesn’t mean it isn’t.” Humph.
“Fine, fine…” Kaito fell silent for a few moments. If the other was being nice enough to come with him because of a whim, he supposed it wouldn’t be best to irritate the detective too much right now…
“…Maybe what I’m more wondering at is if it’s your only hobby. You’re always talking about your job… Do you even do anything else?”
