No Escape

Kid tensed for a moment before allowing himself to relax. He hadn’t really expected the sudden trapping, but he wasn’t really too worried by it either. If this were about catching him because of his job, she could have done something else.

A moment passed and the thief looked down at her with a soft smile.

“…And why would you think I would want to escape, ojou-san?”

And… yep, she’s here.

Kid silently opened the rooftop door wider and stepped out. He kept an eye on her as he turned to close it behind him, but she didn’t seem to have noticed his arrival. She was leaning over the ledge and just staring up at the sky. Even as he walked closer, she didn’t do anything but give a small sigh.

He frowned for a second before smiling and coming up behind her, gently placing his hands on her shoulders. After waiting a moment to make sure she wasn’t going to turn and kick him for his sudden appearance, the thief moved them a bit closer together and slid his thumbs down, pressing against the… well, he would say surprisingly, but after a thought, he supposed it actually wasn’t… tight muscles.

“You know… you really shouldn’t let yourself get so tense, ojou-san. I know you hang out around detectives, but that doesn’t mean you should tire yourself out so much.”

Can I have you?

The thief blinked in surprise, arm outstretched to hand her the most recent target. It slowly drew back at the question, the other hand coming up to scratch his face in both confusion and embarrassment, though he did manage not to blush. Barely.

1st Person: A gentle hug

If he was surprised to see the girl coming up to the rooftop, he didn’t show it. He simply turned and smiled at her.

“Good evening, ojou-san,” he greeted, walking up to her and lightly wrapping his arms around her, slipping the gem into one of her pockets, “Hope you enjoyed the show.”

“Oh!” Ran was taken aback, shocked to find the thief’s arms around her, a light blush tinting her cheeks. She wasn’t going to call out to anyone in alarm, however, just cocking her head to the side to catch a glimpse of his face.

She supposed he would be off into the night soon, gone in a flash like always. Still, the moment made her heart race.

The thief carefully pulled away and took a few steps back, relieved that she hadn’t kicked him or something for the sudden embrace. She didn’t seem to have noticed the jewel yet, either.

“I suppose I’ll take my leave, now. May you enjoy the rest of your evening, ojou-san,” he said, bowing slightly before starting to walk over to the edge of the roof.

Why did you do that?

He leaned back and slid down along the wall, his confident face fading as the shooter dropped the weapon and ran. Coming across the girl on his way back from the heist had been surprising on it’s own. But when he saw the other person, he may have panicked a bit. Even if he’d managed to scare the armed person into fleeing with his sudden appearance and seemingly not being affected by the fact his suit being stained red, it still didn’t change the fact that it hurt. Especially after he was already a bit tired from earlier…

The thief sighed at the question, looking wearily at the other behind a soft smile. It probably did seem like a strange thing for a criminal to suddenly do…

“Because I couldn’t let you get hurt, ojou-san.”

Send me ‡ for my character’s reaction to yours climbing into bed with mine.

The sudden depression of the bed became apparent and Ran’s eyes opened. She expected to find Conan’s small frame beside her. It was an understatement to say she was surprised when she turned from her current position and her eyes fell upon Kaitou. Scrambling to sit up, she pulled the covers to her. Honestly, he was lucky to have not landed on his backside due to her foot meeting with his face. Not just yet. Surprise and semi-consciousness still held her locked somewhere between waking and sure that she was dreaming.

She wasn’t about to ask how he got in. The Kid worked in mysterious ways. But still, as to the why, she had to know.

“W-what are you doing here?"

“I apologise for disturbing your sleep, ojou-san. I merely wanted to return this,” the thief opened a gloved hand to reveal the silvery watch belonging the small detective in the room next door, “I borrowed it from tantei-kun earlier, but I’m not sure if he’d take a sudden visit from me too well, and I wouldn’t want to accidentally wake Mouri-san while giving it back.”

He slowly lowered his hand to place the device between them, eyes not leaving the other. This probably hadn’t been the best idea either, but the possibility of being kicked in the head hadn’t seemed as bad as walking into Conan’s space outside of a heist. The guy seemed paranoid enough already, and a thief showing up where he thought he was safe likely wouldn’t help…

Well, there was also the fact that, while Kid was always cautious of her, she’d never actually done anything to him.

Let’s see…. Where should I put it this time…

The thief approached the agency with a grin on his face. It had been a while since his last heist in Tokyo, and he was looking forward to going up against the little detective again. Though, not so much his soccer balls…

He paused and blinked when the turned through the doorway. Light was coming from the bottom of the door to the Mouri apartment. Raising an eyebrow, he walked up to the door and slowly pushed it open, surprised to find it unlocked.

Really, shouldn’t detectives be more cautious?

Kid stepped inside and carefully closed the door behind him, trying not to make much noise. Then he turned and saw Ran sitting at the table, seemingly having fallen asleep while working on something. A small smile appeared. Really, she reminded him a lot of Aoko, and not just because they looked similar.

He went to over to take a seat next to her, leaning against her side.

“I shouldn’t think this is a good place to sleep, ojou-san.”
