((Cool KID, cool kid, heh))

(I noticed that, too. Kai’s a bit…)

[11:30:19 PM] Raifuujin: Kaito’s looking at that list and going: ’…Wait, am I ‘cool KID’? Because I’m not sure how I feel having one of tantei-kun’s nicknames’

❖ + “Why do you give flowers to people?” ❖ + “And what made you show an interest in magic?”

“The flower one is fairly simple, tantei-kun. I give them to people I want to make happier.” The thief hesitated on the next one, though only for the briefest of moments. And likely overlooked as he filled the pause with an action, a card slipping into his fingers.

“As far as magic… well, my father was a magician.”

✘ “Show me one of your favorite simple magic tricks.”

Send my character a ✘ and a command. They must obey the first five in my inbox. 4/5

Well, he’d technically showed one of his favourites already… but he didn’t mind doing pretty much the same thing differently~

“Such modest requests, tantei-kun. I’m almost amazed you aren’t trying to take much advantage,” Kid teased, pulling a card out of his suit pocket. Gadgets aside, the detective rarely took advantage of anything with him, since their games were more of skill and out-thinking each other.

“One, two, and…”

“There! Another rose to go with the one from before~”

✘ “Introduce me to one of your doves.”

Send my character a ✘ and a command. They must obey the first five in my inbox. 3/5

That unexpected command earned a blink. Not the sort of thing that came to mind, but once the surprise wore off, Kid smiled. “Alright, then…”

He looked to the side and gave a short whistle. One flutter of feathers later, and one of the magician’s birds came to land on an offered finger perch.

“This one’s probably the easiest one to introduce, since he tends to be around more often than the others. He starts complaining when I try to leave him at home.”

The dove cooed as the thief gently rubbed his head a bit, before opening the wings slightly for balance as the gloved hand carrying the bird moved closer to the detective.

“His name’s Sora.”

detectivebarou:

“By making a show, a notice, left, you’re assuring I’ll go.” A pause. “A theft in the night, away from my shoe, hidden from sight, would be better for you.”

“…True that it’d make my job safer, with less projectiles to fear. But a show needs some audience, tantei-kun, I’d have thought that was clear.”

✿ ((If it’s okay? no pressure <3!!!))

29. A kiss to bruised skin

“Really, with that fall, I’m surprised you didn’t get more hurt than this…”

Gloved fingers carefully felt up along the other’s arm regardless. just to be sure there weren’t any fractures. They paused when the detective flinched, however, and he glanced up at his face for a minute. Then he smiled and leaned down to brush his lips over the spot before pulling back and letting the arm go entirely.

“I think you’ll live. Sorry for pressing too hard, but I’m sure that’ll do fine for the lack of a bandage this time.” Grin.

detectivebarou:

Knew from a logical standpoint that he wouldn’t do anything, however paranoia wasn’t logical. Tried to quell the ringing bells.

Somewhat alarmed at the shift in tone. Tensed for the briefest of moments at the motion, before heading closer. No perceivable threat. And didn’t really see there being one from him. If there was, wouldn’t be physical at least, probably. Of course there wouldn’t. It was KID

“Not the first time…?” Let maybe the smallest hint of worry edge into his voice. This wasn’t like the time his monocle was shot off or anything, was it? “What happened?”

Did anyone get hurt?

Did you get hurt? Do you need help? Unaware of his ever dropping guard as the genuine worry and curiosity spiked. Had a lot of questions on the tip of his tongue, instead of asking them, waited for him to explain on his own.

Just a bit more…

The serious expression held steady right up until the thief knew Conan had gotten close enough, and then it broke into a mischievous grin as he reached to swiftly (he did not want to give the other time to freak out from the action) pick up the smaller and hold him in his lap. Only holding somewhat tight for a brief moment in making sure the detective was steady before loosening his grip into a light hug.

(Honestly, spur of the moment as all of this is, he does keep risks in mind. If tantei-kun made enough noise, he’d need to be prepared to leave, if he reacted badly to being held in general, would let him go rather than risk anything. Heck, he’s already risking a lot even being here for no real reason other than impulsiveness.)

Shouldn’t let the chibi only focus on the fact he fell into an innocent trap, though, so Kid did answer the question, with more than a little tease in his voice. “People trying to catch me, some more enthusiastic than others, tricks, traps, heart pounding chase, daring escape… Like i said not anything that’s happened for the first time~”

detectivebarou

“Yes.” An immediate response. He didn’t doubt that the thief really might just be so bored that he randomly pops into someone else’s house, but that would be even more of a reason for him to want a reason. Because this was his house. A detective’s house. Just what was he doing?

Sighed, he would think that after a heist he would be tired and just want to go home and sleep. Maybe he was antsy about something? And couldn’t hold still afterwards? “You just entered a detective’s room, I’m pretty sure that in itself demands a solid reason. You wouldn’t do this to any other detectives, would you?”

On second thought, he didn’t want to know the answer to that. It wasn’t like he was going to try and get him turned in or anything right now, but did the risk just fly over the other’s head?

He really didn’t seem to be hostile or anything though… And it wasn’t like he had to get up in the morning or anything. Added, hopefully quick enough for the thief to not bother responding to his last question. “Do you need an outside opinion on something? Like a case, or something that happened at a heist?”

May be giving him a little bit of an out for his actual reason for coming here, but he didn’t really know if KID would jump to an excuse like that. He was still wrapping his mind around the concept of him entering his house just because he was bored. It didn’t seem unlike him, honestly. And that was a little worrying.

Yep, jumped right on wanting a real reason. And might have brought up what would normally be a good point, in that random urges to climb in a detective’s window was odd for a bored thief. You know, if he were a thief who particularly worried his detectives thought him so bad to arrest him on the spot at any time.

..Which did mean that, had the question not been hastily covered with another, he’d have admitted he might. Guess it’d depend on the reason, and while the out for here was appreciated… Hmm…

“…Well… something did happen at tonight’s heist. Technically not the first time, but…” The light tone from earlier seemed to have vanished as the thief turned his eyes towards the door, voice falling a bit lower as he leaned forward from his seat on the bed and beckoned the chibi closer.

“Wouldn’t be best if Mouri-chan happened to wake up hearing us,” he explained.

detectivebarou

Of course some random intruder would get the ‘cute treatment’, they would think he’s just a kid! Besides, it was an effective way to keep people’s guards lowered. No one would worry about a child, and if he acted amicably, the intruder would be less likely to harm him. And honestly the cuter he acted the more innocent he’d seem and the guiltier their conscious would be. Without his watch and shoes on, his cuteness was his best weapon.

And really? He was pulling the bedtime card? Yes, it was, but he was just about to go to sleep. Not only that but the Mouris weren’t awake or here to enforce it so it didn’t matter anyway. He was technically 17 and didn’t actually need a bedtime. Well, partially, his body did get tired a lot faster when he was Conan. “Maybe, but that’s not really your business, is it, Niichan?”

This time he hadn’t been cute about it.

…Honestly he still felt uncomfortable, despite it being someone he knew. His words might be coming out a little harsher than he’d intended, but he’d just broken into his house. And he wasn’t wearing his shoes or watch. “I didn’t even come to your heist today, so just what did you come here for?”

Still a little harsher than he’d intended. He needed to work on that, it’s not like he disliked the thief or anything. He was a good person, not just a criminal. From the casual way he entered, he didn’t think he had ill intentions either… Did he need to talk about something? Then again, why here? …A case maybe? Honestly, he hoped it wasn’t…

Kid gave a light chuckle at the response. Yeah… kinda of figured he wouldn’t be the most welcomed visitor for showing up past the middle of the night…

“Hmm… maybe because I’m bored? Or would you rather prefer a solid reason for everything?” For all that he sounded laid back and at ease here, maybe trying to get his company to feel the same, the other could tell him off entirely if he seemed serious enough about it. This place technically was a danger zone, being inside a room with a detective he honestly didn’t trust not to jump for one of his gadgets, and a girl in the next room over who could knock him out cold in a heartbeat with just one blow. Yes, no shoes and watch, but this is still dangerous territory more for the non-hostile thief, tantei-kun.

…Though, if his offer for a better excuse was taken, might should come up with one. Else the honest answer would be ‘it was a whim and I decided to check if you kept your things with you while you slept, and it seems you don’t, nice to know’. Perfectly reasonable and not at all concerning, he’s sure, but a backup excuse might work better.
