“Let’s sit in the first row, Kaito!” she said excited taking his hand. She really couldn’t wait for the ride any longer. She was just too energetic right now.

Thankfully, the line wasn’t long, so it didn’t take long before they did manage to get their seats. But he gave her a teasing smile at her choice of seating.

“Hmmm, I didn’t know you had a thing for danger, Aoko. You like seeing everything from the front?”

Aoko was so angry at herself as she finally managed to reach the roof of the high building in her Kid costume. She was really lucky that no one saw her like that. Who would know, what her father had thought of her, if he saw her in that outfit.

Kid suddenly heard a noise behind him and looked down from his perch above the rooftop door. He raised an eyebrow at the outfit, smiling slightly. There were always a few who attended his heists in the costume. though, they usually weren’t allowed inside….

He blinked and looked a bit closer.

Is that….?

The thief choked back a laugh. Why on earth was she in that getup?

“Flattering though it may be, I don’t think wearing that on nights when people are searching for one in the same costume is the best idea, ojou-san. Wouldn’t want to cause you any unneeded trouble, after all.”

He moved to the edge of the section to let her notice him, his cape waving around behind him.

“Well…yes…I still love him…” After a long pause she continued. “I’m pretty sure…he doesn’t feel the same way….I’m not attractive enough…” Her cheeks flushed a little and she kind of felt uneasy, telling the thief about her feelings.

He let out a small laugh.

“Well, I highly doubt it would be because of that. You’re quite lovely, ojou-san. Though, beauty shouldn’t really be a quality that determines whether one likes another anyway.”

Kid paused for a moment before tilting his head back to stare up at the moon.

“Have you told him you like him? Or has he told you that he doesn’t?”

The window opened silently and a white figure landed in the room, cape falling noiselessly behind him. He glanced over at the bed and allowed a small smile, his eyes softening as the blankets moved. Aoko hadn’t said anything about not coming to the heist, and he had gotten a bit worried when she hadn’t shown up.

The thief crossed the room to stand next to her, eyes scanning to see if she seemed sick or hurt in any way. As he looked, she turned again, this time onto her back. Her head was tilted towards him and her mouth was open slightly with some stray hairs falling onto her face.

Kid didn’t even notice he had started to lean over until the charm on his monocle bumped her cheek. He backed away quickly, feeling heat rising to his face. Though, now that he back to awareness, he could tell that his face wasn’t the only area blood was rushing to.

A curse was muttered under his breath. He needed to leave, and not just because of this…. development. The longer he stayed, the more of a chance there was of Aoko waking up and seeing him. But instead, he hovered by the bed, just watching her breath for a moment. In the back of his mind, he knew just how creepy this looked. What he wanted to do was what he’d been about to before he caught himself. He knew it would be wrong to do something like that while she was asleep, though. The unofficial ‘no one gets hurt’ policy didn’t just apply to anything physical, after all.

The thief lightly brushed the hair back from her cheek and knelt down on the floor, taking in a small, sharp breath as shifting fabric passed over his slowly growing ‘problem’. He paused for a moment before resting his arms on the bed, head soon following. Staying beside her like this was creepy, yes.

But at this point, he didn’t care.

Her cheeks got tinted in a darker red as he leaned against her. She wasn’t sure, if she should let herself fall backwards, but she didn’t dislike his closeness. While slowly kissing him back, she moved her arms around his neck, not letting him get away this time.

Oh, he certainly had no intention of backing out.

One of his hands disentangled itself from her hair to trail down her back, trying to bring her in even closer, grasping at her shirt as it did. When she put her arms around him, Kid added a bit more pressure to deepen the kiss. He opened his mouth slightly, tongue flicking out to lick her lips as he gave a questioning hum.

Her eyes widened a bit and her cheeks turned red. “I-I’m sure…I wouldn’t mind it..as long as it’s you…KID..” she said with a trembling voice. They were so close, that she could feel his breathe on her lips. The urge to kiss him started to grow really fast.

She really shouldn’t have said that. Kaito’s judgement was already starting to cloud just from being this close, and when Aoko said she wouldn’t mind… it all but vanished.

“Oh? Is that so? Well, in that case…”

The thief moved forward and firmly pressed his lips to hers, gloved hands slowly sliding through her hair. The hat tilted back as the brim was pushed up from bumping her head. He shifted slightly as the lower half of his body turned, letting him rest on his knees as Kid gently began to lean into her.

“You seem to be really tired. If you want, you can stay here and sleep a bit.” she said smiling softly at the thief. She really wanted to know, who is under this disguise of him. But if she would tell him, he surely would leave at once and think, that she only is with him because of that.

Wait. Sleep… here?

A small, almost nervous laugh escaped him and he could feel the redness wanting to return to his face. Did she really not understand what she just said?

“…Ojou-san… You probably shouldn’t give that sort of offer to a man who visits randomly in the night.”

Kid wrapped his arms around her neck and pulled her closer, a mischievous look in his eye and his mouth forming a smirk.

“You never know what he might try to do.”

She sat up and smiled at him. “I’m fine. Don’t worry about me. How about you?”

Kid moved her hand from his face and carefully shifted to sit on the edge of the bed. By now, his blush had disappeared, but the other area was still bothering him….

“Well, some unwanted guests appeared tonight, but they didn’t cause much trouble.”

The thief turned his head and leaned against her a bit, grinning.

“So long as you’re fine, I’m glad.”

Aoko was so angry at herself as she finally managed to reach the roof of the high building in her Kid costume. She was really lucky that no one saw her like that. Who would know, what her father had thought of her, if he saw her in that outfit.

She looked up at the thief with a little sadness in her eyes. “Say..KID…What would you do, if there is someone you love..but you’re sure..this person doesn’t love you as well….And then…you meet someone…who seems to really like you…or…someone…you kissed…and you didn’t dislike it…?”

The thief scratched his cheek. Unless Aoko had kissed someone else that he didn’t know about, the last part must be referring to Kid… Which, while surprising, didn’t catch his attention as much as the first.

Someone… she loves?

He put the jewel in a pocket for now and took a seat on the ground beside her.

“I suppose it would depend… Do I still love the first person? And how sure am I that they truly don’t love me back?”

≛ – wrapped up like a gift

He hadn’t seen the person who had tied him up with ribbons, but he did recognise the house they’d managed to take him to.

image

This is very, very bad…

The thief was left at the front door, and the figure hurrying away after ringing the bell and putting a bow on his hat. He tried to see if he could get the ribbon off, or at least move away, as he saw the light turn on inside the house.

Unfortunately, he had only just managed to sit up when the door was opened.

Kid closed his eyes as the light blinded him, cautiously re-opening one of them as soon as he was able. He almost let out a sigh of relief to see Aoko, rather than her father, but he remembered that being Kid in front of her wasn’t much better.

“Ah… Good evening, ojou-san. Or, maybe it should be morning by now…” he began, nervously, “I apologise for interrupting your sleep, but it appears that someone was adamant in playing some sort of prank…”

Kid smiled at her, much more cheerfully and confident than he felt. She probably wouldn’t help, but it wouldn’t hurt to ask anyway…

“I don’t suppose you could give me a hand?”

image

“You’re lucky that I want my dad to catch you, you stupid thief.” she said as she started to free him. “What did you do with the one on your hands? It’s a complete mess.” Aoko pulled a lot on the ribbon and then went inside. Just a few seconds later, she gets outside with a scissor and cut the ribbon. “You can go now.”

Kid stretched his arms as soon as they were free. He wasn’t sure if he’d been tied up for all that long, but his body had still gotten a bit stiff. Once that was done, he turned to Aoko, kneeling down and taking one of her hands.

“Again, you have my thanks, ojou-san,” he said, lightly placing a kiss on her fingers.

She slowly opened her eyes as she felt someone touching her face. “KID…..is that you..?” she mumbled as she turned to the side, looking at the thief. “Is your heist already over? I’m sorry. I fell asleep.” Her hand slowly moved to his face, softly stroking his cheek. “Are you here to give me back the jewel or is there another reason?”

He was bit surprised when she opened her eyes, but gave her a soft smile as she spoke.

“It’s alright, ojou-san. I’ve already returned the gem.” He leaned into her touch, his own gloved hand reaching up to gently clasp her wrist and stared at her with half-lidded eyes.

“I just came to see that you were okay.”

Aoko was so angry at herself as she finally managed to reach the roof of the high building in her Kid costume. She was really lucky that no one saw her like that. Who would know, what her father had thought of her, if he saw her in that outfit.

Aoko sat down on the ground putting a hand on her mouth, covering it. She just realized, what she actually did with the thief.

image

“I-I kissed him…I really…kissed him.”

She could slap herself for what she did. Kissing a thief was already horrible. But losing her first kiss by him and not the person she was in love with was the worst.

“What the hell were I thinking?! He is a thief! He is the one, who keeps my dad away from me! So how?! How could I…..just kiss him… He’s not the one I love…”

She slowly pulled her legs closer to her body, hugging them tightly as she put her head on her knees. “I’m so stupid….”

Kid did manage to finish the heist quickly, even remembering to send off a few dummies for the police to chase around so that they wouldn’t come to the roof. He wasn’t sure if Aoko was still there, but he didn’t want her to get into any trouble if she did stay.

He was just about to open the door when he hesitated.

What would he do if she really was still there? Though he had enjoyed it, Kaito was already starting to feel guilty for having kissed her as Kid. He knew she hated the thief and yet….

Fingers wrapped tightly the jewel in his hand and he turned the knob, swinging it out. It didn’t take long for him to spot her sitting on the ground. For the moment, checking the gem wasn’t a priority as he started to walk over to her, worry in his face and voice.

“Ojou-san? Are you… all right?”
