“Let’s go to the roller coaster, please!” she nearly shouted in excitement. A bright smile could be seen on her face. She really was happy to be here with him. It had been quite a while since they last was here after all.

Kaito winced, remembering his last experience with the roller coaster. But he did enjoy them, when he was actually in the seats…

“Okay, okay! No need to yell,” he said, laughing some at her enthusiasm. It was nice to see her so energetic, even if he wasn’t quite sure why she was so happy today in particular.

Must’ve really been wanting to come here, I guess…

The magician started to walk off towards the ride, slowly, giving her a chance to walk next to him.

He hadn’t seen the person who had tied him up with ribbons, but he did recognise the house they’d managed to take him to.

This is very, very bad…

The thief was left at the front door, and the figure hurrying away after ringing the bell and putting a bow on his hat. He tried to see if he could get the ribbon off, or at least move away, as he saw the light turn on inside the house.

Unfortunately, he had only just managed to sit up when the door was opened.

Kid closed his eyes as the light blinded him, cautiously re-opening one of them as soon as he was able. He almost let out a sigh of relief to see Aoko, rather than her father, but he remembered that being Kid in front of her wasn’t much better.

“Ah… Good evening, ojou-san. Or, maybe it should be morning by now…” he began, nervously, “I apologise for interrupting your sleep, but it appears that someone was adamant in playing some sort of prank…”

Kid smiled at her, much more cheerfully and confident than he felt. She probably wouldn’t help, but it wouldn’t hurt to ask anyway…

“I don’t suppose you could give me a hand?”

Her eyes widened in surprise as she opened the door. Kid was standing right in front of her, wrapped in ribbons. She rubbed her eyes to make sure, that she isn’t still sleeping. It wasn’t a dream, it was really real.

“Kaitou KID?!” she shouted in shock and listened carefully to what he was telling her. After thinking about it for a few minutes, she walked closer to him. “Alright. I’ll help you.”

He blinked a bit in confusion before smiling gratefully. The thief had still half expected her to call the police, with him showing up like this so late.

“Thank you. I think all of the knots are in the back…” Kid turned slightly so that she could reach them. The ones near his hands were a bit of a mess, but the rest were beyond his reach.

The window opened silently and a white figure landed in the room, cape falling noiselessly behind him. He glanced over at the bed and allowed a small smile, his eyes softening as the blankets moved. Aoko hadn’t said anything about not coming to the heist, and he had gotten a bit worried when she hadn’t shown up.

The thief crossed the room to stand next to her, eyes scanning to see if she seemed sick or hurt in any way. As he looked, she turned again, this time onto her back. Her head was tilted towards him and her mouth was open slightly with some stray hairs falling onto her face.

Kid didn’t even notice he had started to lean over until the charm on his monocle bumped her cheek. He backed away quickly, feeling heat rising to his face. Though, now that he back to awareness, he could tell that his face wasn’t the only area blood was rushing to.

A curse was muttered under his breath. He needed to leave, and not just because of this…. development. The longer he stayed, the more of a chance there was of Aoko waking up and seeing him. But instead, he hovered by the bed, just watching her breath for a moment. In the back of his mind, he knew just how creepy this looked. What he wanted to do was what he’d been about to before he caught himself. He knew it would be wrong to do something like that while she was asleep, though. The unofficial ‘no one gets hurt’ policy didn’t just apply to anything physical, after all.

The thief lightly brushed the hair back from her cheek and knelt down on the floor, taking in a small, sharp breath as shifting fabric passed over his slowly growing ‘problem’. He paused for a moment before resting his arms on the bed, head soon following. Staying beside her like this was creepy, yes.

But at this point, he didn’t care.

Aoko was so angry at herself as she finally managed to reach the roof of the high building in her Kid costume. She was really lucky that no one saw her like that. Who would know, what her father had thought of her, if he saw her in that outfit.

Kid suddenly heard a noise behind him and looked down from his perch above the rooftop door. He raised an eyebrow at the outfit, smiling slightly. There were always a few who attended his heists in the costume. though, they usually weren’t allowed inside….

He blinked and looked a bit closer.

Is that….?

The thief choked back a laugh. Why on earth was she in that getup?

“Flattering though it may be, I don’t think wearing that on nights when people are searching for one in the same costume is the best idea, ojou-san. Wouldn’t want to cause you any unneeded trouble, after all.”

He moved to the edge of the section to let her notice him, his cape waving around behind him.

She slowly let go of him. “I’m waiting for you here…”

The thief nodded and went over to the door, glancing back at her one more time before going inside.

Once it shut behind him, Kaito allowed the blush that he’d been trying to ignore come up, turning his face a bright red. He brought a hand to his lips, only just now noticing how quickly his heart was beating.

Kid had kissed before.

Kid had been kissed before.

But not on the lips and not by Aoko.He stood there for a minute to let the redness fade before taking a deep breath and descending the stairs, ready to begin the heist.

She nodded quickly. “You’re right.” she said as she took his hand and left the cafe in a hurry. Aoko still felt sorry for troubling him that much. But it only could get better now.

As they reached Tropical Land, she ran in really fast. “Hurry up, Kaito!” she shouted happily.

“Jeeze, at least give me time to get out of this first.”

As she ran on ahead into the park, Kaito pulled off yet another quick change before following. While he liked the Seto disguise, wearing it in a small cafe was one thing. A busy amusement park was just asking for it to be seen. He stopped next to her and grinned.

“So, what do you want to do first?”

Aoko was so angry at herself as she finally managed to reach the roof of the high building in her Kid costume. She was really lucky that no one saw her like that. Who would know, what her father had thought of her, if he saw her in that outfit.

She looked a bit surprised at the thief as he suddenly broke the kiss. Normally she should be happy about it. He was a thief after all. But somehow she wanted that kiss to last longer.

“Will you promise me…to come back fast..?” she asked with hope in her eyes. She really wanted to continue, what they just started. Even though her mind told her, that it was the worst thing she could do, her heart told her it had to be like this and that it was the right thing to do.

He gave her a small smile, eyes softening as he answered.

“Of course. I’ll return as quickly as I’m able.”

Kid backed away from her, pushing slightly against her arms, silently asking to be released.

Even though she shouldn’t like it, she just couldn’t help herself. The feeling of his gentle lips on her own was just great. She still clung onto his jacket as she slowly kissed him back.

He would be lying if he said he didn’t enjoy it. Kaito had realised the feeling he had towards Aoko some time ago, even before finding out about his father. At that time, he hadn’t wanted to affect their friendship by telling her. And after taking up the title of Kaitou Kid, he hadn’t wanted to get her involved. But her closeness and the heat from her mouth almost made the magician forget that he hadn’t told her. He wanted to just continue savouring this moment….

However, he currently wasn’t Kuroba Kaito.

Much too soon, the thief reluctantly pulled away, moving the hand on her arm back up the shoulder. The other, he slid forward, lightly stroking her cheek.

“Hmm… this does cause some difficulty. I do wish to stay with you, ojou-san. However, I wouldn’t want to sadden everyone else who came here tonight, either….”

He fell back into the hug, his arms holding her close as Kid leaned over her, the charm on his monocle brushing against her face.

“So, please, would you allow me to carry out my promise to them? I swear to you that I will return and allow you to keep hold of the jewel, if it is not what I’m searching for.”

Her eyes widened in shock at what Kaito said. “Oh no…I-I’m sorry Kaito…. I ruined everything…” They tried their best to hide the fact, that he is a boy and she just kept calling him Kaito. She really ruined it.

“It’s fine. The staff here probably heard it, but they didn’t come kick us out, so I guess they were okay with me being here,” he said, voice still low as he glanced at the cashier. The magician did have to wonder what they thought about him dressing as a girl, though…

He shook his head and smiled cheerfully, trying to ease Aoko’s worrying. It wasn’t really her fault. He should have reminded her about talking to him as a girl and given her a name to call him by.

Guess I’m not used to people knowing who I really am when I’m in disguise…

“Though, we should probably still go now. Wouldn’t want to lose time standing around here, right?”

Aoko was so angry at herself as she finally managed to reach the roof of the high building in her Kid costume. She was really lucky that no one saw her like that. Who would know, what her father had thought of her, if he saw her in that outfit.

She slowly closed her eyes.

“No, I won’t.” she said as she clung onto his jacket. “I’d be happy, if you’d not lie to me. I…I want…you to stay.”

She wasn’t really sure, what she was doing right now. But it somehow felt right to her. Aoko wouldn’t fight against it. It just felt so right.

A part of him still hoped Aoko would push him away. It wasn’t as if Kaito didn’t want to do this, but… didn’t she hate Kid? Why did she seem perfectly willing to allow this….

For better or worse, though, that part wasn’t the one in control right now. Kaito wasn’t sure if it was because of the Kid persona, or his own desire, that made him continue, hand slowly slidding its way to the back of her neck, pushing through Aoko’s hair.

“But, ojou-san, don’t you know?” The thief got even closer, until he could feel her breath on his mouth.

“A humble thief tells no lies,” he finished, just before he shut his own eyes, closing what was left of the space between them and gently pressing his lips to her own.
