Shinichi frowned as the other seemed to refuse to talk to him, make any noise at him for whatever reason. Considering the master thief’s line of work he could be dead silent when he wished to be. “I don’t know why you’re like this, KID, but… As much as I may want to I’m not going to force you. You have your reasons and perhaps you’ll tell me when you’re ready. I hope you’ll allow me to sit with you?” Of course he asked this as he was sitting down, eyes forward. KID would talk when he wanted.

He glanced at the detective out of the corner of his eye as the other sat beside him and a nod was given to show that the company was allowed. Really, it was preferred, but the thief still didn’t say a word. After a few moments of staring at the ground, he rested his head on Shinichi’s shoulder and slowly closed his eyes, visibly relaxing.

He took the jewel without even looking at the thief, letting his fingers brush the gloved one’s that belonged to his white clad thief as his hand curled around the target. He could almost feel the disappointment KID was feeling and he moved to try and press against him a little to show it would be okay.

“Don’t worry, ne? I know you’ll find it eventually, Lady Luck favors you after all. She’s just going to make you work for it is all."

Not his worst attempt at cheering someone up, but man that sounded lame as hell. He could almost hear the thief teasing him for his poor attempt.

Kid glanced up at the detective from his shoulder, finally showing a smile, at least. There was still disappointment in his eyes, but he was glad Shinichi was trying to be some comfort.

The thief’s eyes closed again and he reached over to capture the other in a gentle side hug.
