“Was going to say I didn’t recall my mun having a rite of passage… But then I remembered she went tumbling front wheel to back on a bike once because she’d forgotten she was on her mother’s due to hers having a flat tire. Problem with the switch, her mother’s bike had sensitive breaks where hers hadn’t (which she’d already noticed, by the way, she’d played around with them for a short time before what happened). So… going down a steep hill, habit made her pull the breaks all the way to get what would make her bike slow down… but made the one she was on have its wheels come to an immediate halt and I don’t think I would have liked seeing a bicycle somersault…

She was fine, by the way, just a few scrapes. Visor of her helmet broke off, too. But she was more shaken up than anything else, and embarrassed.”

“The hat and monocle work because one: shadows. The show might let you guys see my face, but to the people actually trying to catch me…”

“It ends up looking like this. You don’t see too many recognisable features. Most of the time, when the people try and remember my face, they can’t tell what it looked like. There’s a bit too much action going on to get a clear look and focus on it. But for the second reason… I can get away with a less than perfect covering simply because I’m known as a master of disguise. Even if people did see me, most wouldn’t think it’s my actual face. Only exception might be tantei-kun, since he knows more what I might look like, facially.

Really, just playing with expectations and making people second guess themselves. Still better than just glasses.”
