Hakuba sighed and placed down his book. Though he knew Kaito knew who Spider was, for once he would indulge him a little and play along with his ruse.

“Spider is a top assassin.” Hakuba explains. “He uses illusions and poison to take out his targets.” Hakuba looked out the window. “I have been following him, trying to capture him, but have yet to find anything about him, much less catch him. But I do know his current target.”

“Oh?”

Kaito followed Hakuba’s gaze for a moment before his eyes turned back to the other teen. Come to think of it, he still didn’t know why Hakuba was chasing after that man. Aside from the fact that Spider was an assassin, there really didn’t seem to be a specific reason. And the detective had to have been following the guy for awhile. Though he said he hadn’t found out anything, figuring out that Spider was Gunter von Goldberg and doing enough research to know the illusionist was a fake identity must have taken some work…

“So you do have other people you chase after besides Kid. Though, from the sound of it, that’s probably not a good thing…”

The magician sighed and crossed his arms behind his head, leaning back against his chair and hiding a teasing grin behind his usual mask.

“Well, don’t keep me in suspense. Who is this guy after?”
