”I heard you scream. It was a crash. Now do you want help, or are you do you want me to get Inspector Nakamori?”

“Fine, fine… No need to bring Nakamori-keibu in…” But if he sees a soccer ball, he’s disengaging the glider, possible bruising and loss of a cape framework or no.

Mistletoe!

Let’s see… knowing the little detective, the door should be opening any… Ah! There it goes~

Kid waited a few seconds, and watched as the chibi slowly and cautiously poked his head in and glanced around before proceeding, one hand hovering around the watch, which worryingly had the cover up already. Jeeze… Wasn’t enough to ‘corner’ the thief, you were going to threaten him with that, too? …Better than the soccer balls, though…

Thankfully, though the other was turning his head left and right, focusing further into the room as he walked… he did as many others and didn’t think to look up. Because logically, a person shouldn’t be able to cling to the ceiling, right? Right?

Pfft.

The thief smiled as the detective continued, though it was clear he was already becoming suspicious. Of course he would be. Good thing it was planned for.~

A light suddenly clicked on, illuminating something just above where Conan had gotten to. And as soon as the other looked up, Kid acted, dropping down and cutting the line holding him up to fall just behind the other, placing a light kiss on the other’s forehead as soon as he turned, then pulled back with a grin and smoke obscured the white figure.

“You really should watch out for those at this time of year, tantei-kun~”

The words echoed as the smoke cleared, leaving the chibi detective alone in the room, a small bit of mistletoe swaying slightly over his head.

“Are you awake?”

Kid stirred at the sound, opening his eyes and turning to the chibi, though it was clear they weren’t really focused at all. Somewhere in the haze of sleep there was a dull feeling of pain, but it was too far off for him to register. He gave a sluggish attempt to reach out and pull the other down with him, but, nope, too tired, and he settled for just drawing his cape around him again as he curled up in the grass and closed his eyes again, settling for a minute before saying anything.

“…S’ra, no. Y’ can’t h’ve a c’pe… ’s s’lly…”

So send my muse a symbol, to see how my muse would touch yours, if…

…they were trying to calm/sooth your muse.

He’s not sure why the other is sweating so profusely and looking so damned nervous, but even he can’t work up the nerve to tease him for it. Settling beside the magician, all he can think to do is reach out and pet the back of his strangely clammy hand.

He really needs to work on his comforting techniques.

Why? Whywhywhywhywhy? Why did it have to be moved, why here, why those things, why in the center of the fickin’ largest room, and just- gah!

Kaito started when he felt the touch on his hand, quickly looking down at… Wait, when had he gotten there?

The magician blinked at Conan, glancing from him to the hand a couple of times before taking a breath and making himself relax a bit. Not completely, since this was still tantei-kun and he wasn’t exactly here for the most innocent of reasons. Ahaha… No, he’d never come to this place of his own free will under most circumstances… But at least not working himself up into a near panic, at least. He had something else to focus on. Heck, he hadn’t even been inside the place yet, just falling to his imagination… which admittedly probably wasn’t the best idea, since it made things a lot worse than they might be.

Okay, yeah… stop thinking about it.

Once he’d calmed down a bit, he sent the other a small smile.

“Ah… sorry. I… Umm… Did you need something?”

There were about a billion unwritten rules when it came to shrunken detectives, so it was on KID’s head if he didn’t know them. Hmph.

”It’s not my fault your face is such an easy target,” he grumbled immaturely. Violence was uncalled for, and he knew that, but it was so much fun watching the thief scurry and whimper whenever he used his special shoes to ‘gently’ propel solid objects in his direction.

Feeling himself settle on the thief’s shoulder, he couldn’t help but to grunt and cross his arms.

   Put me down.”

“Well, it’s not my fault you’re so easy to pick up~ I’ve already given the condition for you getting down,” the thief returned as he started walking. This was a different sort of dangerous game than normal, playing with an irritated tantei on his shoulders than with gunmen at his heists… But he really didn’t enjoy having to be on guard every time he came to talk with the other from a fear of getting one of those black-and-white projectiles to the head. Kid didn’t like threats, tantei-kun didn’t like being picked up. Even trade off.

“Though, from the sound of it, you still haven’t learned anything at all.”
