Heiji felt something caress his side causing a tingle to travel up his spine. It wasn’t unpleasant but really anyone would be shocked when something suddenly touched them. Not to mention someone’s ribs wasn’t really one would caress unless in certain situations.
Unfortunately any touch to his ribs caused him to squirm and laugh a bit. Since they were rather ticklish. He quickly wiggled away from whatever had touched him and went to glare at it.
To his surprise it was Kaito KID.
“W-what are ya doin here?” He said a bit embarassed that KID might have found a weakness to exploit.
Well… certainly not what he’d expected. The thief blinked as the detective started laughing and moving away, but a grin soon spread across his face. Oh, if that was the case, this could be fun~
“Do I need to be doing something to be here? Pretty sure a phantom can go wherever he wants, tantei-han~ Besides, I never did thank you for the kiss that one time.”
…Well, not the worst thing a heist target could do…
Consequences of looking for cursed gems, he supposed. But that doesn’t help when the thief needs something like, oh, opposable thumbs to actually hold the dang thing. It was too large to fit in his mouth, too. As it was, he focused on trying to move it along with his paws, maybe at least get it somewhere hidden before he tries to find out what to do. If he needed the jewel to reverse his sudden change of species, might not be the best idea to let it be returned just yet.
…Though moving something shiny around like this probably wasn’t the best idea either. It’s getting really distracting…

Tail waving happily behind him, Kaito hopped on the stone, causing it to roll away along the ground, though it didn’t take long before he chased it down to catch it with his paws.
And before too long, his ears twitched. Footsteps. He looked up, standing defensively over the gem, ears back at the approaching figure. No. His shiny. Wait, no, jewel. His jewel. Still didn’t want people taking it, but should probably try to not get so distracted…
Heiji brought his other hand up to rest his chin on. This cat seemed determined on guarding that jewel. After a long moment Heiji’s patience seemed to wear down and slight irritation over came him before he stood up straight again.
“ Yer one stubborn cat.” He muttered running a hand through his hair after he removed his hat to do so. “I’ll let someone know yer up here then. Maybe they’ll feed ya! Ya do look pretty scrawny.”
Kaito’s ears folded down as the other stood, though soon perked up again when it seemed like the other was going to leave. Maybe by the time someone else came, he’ll have had time to move the gem so he could come back later…
…Wait…
I’m not ‘scrawny’, I’m lithe.Not my fault I got a lot smaller than I’d have thought…
Though, the mention of food caused his stomach to make a sound, and his ears went back again. In embarrassment this time. No, bad. Not allowed to make noises, at least not while people are around.

Heiji knelt down as to make himself look smaller to the kitten here on the roof. It was probably a stray but the question remained on how it managed to get up to the roof. Had it snuck in and made a home up here? Eattin birds and drinking rain water?
Maybe that’s why it was so small.
So carefully Heiji reached a hand forward. Cats liked to sniff things didn’t they? And he didn’t want the little guy scratching him up.
“Oi, ‘m not gonna hurt ya.” He said calmly. To be honest, he always had a soft spot for cats. "I just wanna help.“
He’ll get the jewel later or maybe just pick the cat up and let KID force know it was on the roof and KID long gone.
He crouched over the jewel even more when the detective knelt down, watching, following the hand as it got closer, half prepared to scratch, yes…
And then it stopped. Not touching anything, just held out, and Kaito blinked, waiting a moment before looking back at the other’s face.
Help? …I mean, yeah, I’m going to need some, more than likely… But I get the feeling what we think I need ‘help’ with is a little different from each other, tantei-han….

This was easily one of the most oddest things Heiji has ever stumbled upon in his life. And of course it had to be at a KID heist as well.
As he had been chasing the international thief and ended up getting caught in one of his traps for a minute. And now he was seeing a little kitten playing with the gem KID stole.
“What in the world.” He spoke aloud walking closer to the young cat. “How did ya get in here?”

Glancing over to the side a brief moment, he gave a passing thought to knocking the jewel over the edge of the roof, but, no… that might be a little too risky. If it didn’t break or chip somehow, the chance someone else might happen upon it went up if he sent it down where the crowd stood… Damn it, he really didn’t have many options right now, did he?

“Kendo gives me the break I need. ‘N that is probably less stressful then tryin ta chase ya down when a whole task force can’t catch ya. ” He stopped for a moment a wicked smirk crossing his face. It was time for some payback for that last comment.
“Why are ya so eager ta get me to come? I figured it would be easy ta say no. Never have been rejected have ya?”
“Hmm… I suppose I haven’t. Not that I usually ask either, though. Most just come. If anything I’ve been invited to act more than asking someone else if they’d attend one of my heists. I just thought it might be fun to have someone new join in. But I obviously can’t force you to if you’re really so against it. Wouldn’t make a difference any way.”
“Don’t think ta highly of yerself. Ya may have Hakuba ‘n Kudo chasin ya but who says I will even show up if ya do come to Osaka? No offence but I got bigger fish ta fry than a Thief that returns what they steal. An ya have a reputation that no one gets hurt on yer heists so I see no need ta add myself ta that list of detective ya outwit.”
“Aww, but it would be so rude of you to turn down an invitation. I might even send it to you personally. I may not be as threatening a criminal, but you should take a break from all those uglier cases every once in a while, tantei-han. Though I suppose I should be flattered that you seem to already think you’ll be added to that list without even trying to go up against me…” May have barely twitched just a bit there.
“Ya would think so wouldn’t ya? But yer just bad fer someones health in general if ya want ta get specific about it. An really I can’t run off ta Tokyo on an invite. So thanks fer the offer but I rather not.”
“I’d like to think I at least keep the police in good physical health, if nothing else, much as they like to chase~ Of course, I wouldn’t ask you to come to Tokyo on my behalf. Not if I’m actually wanting to expect you. I’m sure I could come to the Kansai region a few times. I may like Tokyo, but I am an international thief. If I could show up in Paris, I don’t think it’d be too much trouble to step a little further out here in Japan.”
