He knew he shouldn’t be there in his current condition, face seemingly permanently stained red and he hoped he could lie convincingly enough to the thief he asked. He couldn’t help that his hormones had been going a little more haywire then usual, a side effect from the Apotoxin Haibara had told him. This really was the worst time to come to a KID heist.
Maybe he should go, he could likely leave before KID showed up since he seemed to be having fun toying with the Task Force. Turning to go with that decision in mind, he hoped maybe he could actually leave before the thief showed up and he’d have to try and explain his fevered look and uh… physical evidence to what exactly was wrong with the detective.
“I should have never promised I’d try to make it to all of his heists,” he murmured to himself.
He knew KID wasn’t going to buy it. The king of lies and deception himself? Yea, Shinichi couldn’t lie to save himself unless he had time to actually plan something. Or he was cute and adorable as Conan and could get away with terrible lies.
Feeling the hand against his forehead, gloved or not, made him heat up a little more and he cursed the fact the thief cared. H-he really should stop touching him, he was already showing physical evidence of his issue (thank god the thief hadn’t looked down yet), he didn’t need to show it more so.
“I-it’s just a warm night, I’m not sick if that’s what you’re worried about.”
Kid reluctantly pulled his hand away, still not really believing the detective. But it was true that, other than the heat and the red face, there didn’t seem to be any signs of Shinichi being ill… Still didn’t explain the weird behaviour, though.

“…If you say so….”
The thief looked the detective in the eyes for a minute before sighing and giving a small smile, before reaching out to pull Shinichi into a hug.
“Just don’t think that you have to come to every heist. I won’t get too offended if you can’t make it because of a cold or something, you know.”
