The thief turned at sudden voice, smiling at the other and resisting the urge to take a few steps away. While she was normally a nice girl, knowing what she could do with karate always kept him wary, even if he’d never actually been on the receiving end…
“Hmm? I wasn’t aware you were looking for me, ojou-san. Do you need something?”
Ran looked up into the males eyes and gave him a warm smile as he wiped her tears away. He was right.. if something had happened to them then she would have heard about them.
The girl closed her eyes for a while then opened them again. “I don’t think so.. you know Shinichi and Conan.. they never tell anyone anything.” she said and sighed deeply. Those two are just so much alike.. and honestly.. Kid reminded her of Shinichi too.
Kid slowly withdrew his hand from her face, though the one on the shoulder remained.

“No one? Not even those other kids he hangs out with?”
Though he said ‘kids’, he really only had one in mind. From what he’d seen of the small group, one seemed to be… well, mature, at the very least. She’d taken charge when the small detective was taken out during the Kirin Horn heist, so there may be a small chance he would have mentioned something to her, if for no other reason than to say that he can’t come over for a while… It might be possible for him to have not wanted the children to worry. Though it wasn’t the best possible lead, since there’s no real reason to warn them and not Mouri-chan, it was the last one the thief could think of. Barring the even slimmer chance the detective actually told the police before he did something dangerous.
