It was enough to pull a snort and a soft, quiet, still too shaky laugh from the clinging magician and he shook his head, once, hands curling tighter into the suit and pulling the thief closer to him.

“No. You’re—” He stopped, voice breaking, and squeezed his eyes shut, head sliding just a little further down his double’s chest to hide his face from view. “…No. I— s-sorry.”

A small, soft smile just barely rose up, and he leaned his head down to rest on top of the other’s. The actions and the fact that his alternate self seemed to not be able to banter with him right now still worried him… But at least he was welcome to help.

“Nothing to be apologise for, magician-san. I’m certainly not one to turn down a free hug, especially from you.”

A light tone, but not quite teasing. The thief would have liked it better if the other didn’t seem so… so insecure.

Screw wondering about whether it’s okay or not, because Kaito is just going to latch onto the familiar figure, bury his face in that whiteclad shoulder and try not to think about the fact that his other self is wearing that costume.

Kid blinked a few times when the magician came over and held onto him, face still clouded with concern. It didn’t take long for him to slide his arms around the other, though, one rubbing gently up and down his doppelganger’s back.

“…Guess you don’t mind spending time with a ‘robot’ anymore, hmm?”

Kaito grinned, expression brightening the moment his eyes landed on his whiteclad counterpart and he wasted no time in approaching him, steps swift and light. He reached up, hands cupping the thief’s cheeks and, without so much as a word of explanation, he leaned in, lips brushing against lips in a brief, soft kiss. ” … A dare,” was the first thing out of Kaito’s mouth after, eyes gaining a sheepish and just a bit embarrassed tint.

The thief had been surprised enough to see the magician come up in the first place, since he was usually the one to start bugging the other. A grin broke out and he was about to greet him when hands were suddenly on his cheeks and he found himself caught in a kiss. Might not have lasted long, but it was enough to make him turn pink as well. He’d kissed the magician before but, well… lips was new.

And he wasn’t to get used to receiving affection as much as he liked to give it out.

“A-ah… I see… And here I thought you just had a new way of saying hi.”

A pause, and the grin returned.

“You know, you don’t need a dare if you ever want to do it again, magician-san.~”

Fingers Through Your Hair~ (Kai. Stop taking advantage of apparently being able to cross dimensions.)

themoonlightthief:

Send me “Fingers Through Your Hair” for my muse’s reaction to opening their eyes and finding their head layed back in your muse’s lap, while your muse strokes their hair.

Kaito had no idea when he fell asleep or even how much time had passed – he blamed the too many late nights he’d had lately for that – when the soothing sensation of someone running their fingers through his hair made him start to stir. He shifted, slightly, letting out a quiet breath as he slowly forced his eyes open, blinking blearily, before a familiar flash of white caught his attention.

…Right.

His gaze flickered upwards, but he already knew what he’d see. The white suit, red tie, monocle and top hat along with that oh so familiar grin had his lips tugging upwards ever so slightly and he breathed out a quiet laugh.

Of course.

“…You know,” Kaito began with a small smile and a content sigh, eyes closing once more. He was in no hurry whatsoever to move and it— well, it felt nice. “You’re pretty comfortable for a robot.”

Take advantage of the fact his counterpart had fallen asleep to get close again? Why ever would anyone think that?

Though really, he was beginning to think he wouldn’t have to catch the other with his guard lowered to be allowed near, now. Especially if the magician’s reaction to waking up and seeing the thief messing with his hair was just a nice, even with the usual teasing thrown in, comment and a smile. Just better to be safe than sorry.

“I should hope so, considering I’m another you…”

Kid continued smiling and combing through the other’s hair, though it wasn’t exactly doing much beyond feeling nice, since the wild locks refused to stay down. Not that he’d been trying, knowing his own hair well enough to know it’d be futile with just fingers.

His other self seemed to have gotten used to the affection, but that didn’t stop the thief from continuing to test for reactions as he bent over to give an eskimo kiss for a change.

“And you’re quite comfortable yourself, magician-san.~”

themoonlightthief:

“You really think I’d give you any other torture suggestions?”

photo FILE22483.png

Not that it felt very much like torture in the first place and, really, he’d be lying if he said that he didn’t enjoy the attention.

Kaito grinned, one hand idly reaching upwards in a sudden urge he couldn’t quite contain, to slide up the side of the thief’s head, fingers just barely dipping beneath the hat to curl into his hair and lightly pet his counterpart. He might’ve had a few ideas flash through his mind, but—

Well. It was probably a better idea not to say anything at all.

“You’re a really bad torturer, you know.”

The thief hummed contently at the touch and let his eyelids fall closed, arms tightening around the other’s waist just a bit more. Yep. It had definitely been worth it to catch the other while he’d been sleepy. Not nearly as cautious as the first time they’d met. Though, it probably helped that the magician did have the first experience, considering questioning one’s sanity probably helped make it easier to accept that there was another self, trying to explain it by way of claiming the other person is a robot or no.

As for this Kid… well… he really didn’t much question things that should be unbelievable. Whether it has explanation or not, what happens happens and he just figures out what to do in response. In this case, the decision to cuddle his doppelganger seemed to be received well.

“Well then, I suppose that part of my ‘programming’ was never installed. Forgive me if I don’t particularly mind that.”

“Ah, right, of course. My apologies, robot-kun.”

Hey, he might not think he was actually a robot anymore, but that certainly didn’t stop Kaito from teasing him about it. Besides, he still didn’t quite understand how there could be two of them, but, well, that was a question for another time. There were more important things to pay attention to right now. Like cuddles.

“So,” Kaito began, leaning back against the thief, lips tugging upwards. “If they’re not going to kill me, then what are you planning? Is it a new kind of torture?”

He didn’t really mind the nickname by this point, so long as he was correct thinking the other wasn’t serious about it.

"Hmm… I was just planning on continuing like this for a while…. Unless you have any suggestions that might be interesting enough for me to allow.”

The thief rubbed a cheek against the other some, very much like a cat as the other arm slid down to join the other around the magician’s waist.

“So the only ‘torture’ you’d be getting right now would be if you didn’t like the attention.~”
